Apple iPad Pro – review

First they squeezed it: reduced the screen to bridge the gap between iPhone and iPad
now they are expanding it: making it bigger, larger, heavier and bridging gap between iPad and macbook.

Apple! There is no harm in bringing touchscreen capability into the macbooks! Dont worry, no one will call you copy cats! Keep in mind! you copy way less in comparison!

The Design

Holding the iPad Pro just doesn’t feel like the iPad anymore, its as big as a 13″ laptop. It is too big in  its form factor. It weighs more, however not heavy enough to build biceps. The design is very similar to Apple iPad Air 2, rather it looks like larger variant of Air 2. Has round edges and a thin bezel. Has the iconic Home button at the front bottom.

The Display

The Apple iPad Pro comes with 5.6 million pixels, highest ever resolution Retina display of any iOS device yet.

What do you do with a screen so big? You multitask! Yup, the iOS9 gives you freedom to do so flawlessly. Bluetooth enabled Apple Pencil is your baseball bat for pitch-like big screen. It brings the old skool style drawing / painting to reality. You can easily blend and smudge and what not.

The Apple Pencil is a stylus which is pressure-sensitive in nature and has several sensors that enable it to monitor the force, tilt and position of its movements on the screen, which are conveyed through bluetooth to the iPad Pro. The precision and experience with Apple Pencil is uniquely immersive. You just drown into the big big screen, and yet it remains thin. The touch refresh rates too have been doubled, giving the user an ever more responsive machine.

The Camera

Camera for iPad Pro isnt something they tried to change much this time. The rear 8MP camera captures decent images and front camera 1.2MP will suffice FaceTime and selfies.

The Battery

Battery is King! The iPad Pro has a humongous Non-removable Li-Ion 10,307 mAh battery. Fulfilling all the juice one ever wants. Even a badass of a work will not be successful in making you a wall-hugger.

The iPad Pro is the only device on this planet featuring automatic refresh rates for the screen, translating to massive energy savings. The device is already loaded with a biggest battery ever. You can go on and on and on without having the thirst of a recharge.

The Sound

You probably never noticed a “Sound”section in a tablet review, the iPad Pro deserves it. The speaker housing is machined into the uni-body enclosure, hence the 4 speakers give a powerful output.

The new side port which has three contact points makes the iPad more compatible with a huge range of accessories like the keypad. No more Bluetooth or battery operated keyboard and other accessories required. One less device to be recharged.

Verdict

Yes it has 4K video editing capabilities. Yes it has a efficient new A9X processor fixed upon third-generation chip with 64-bit desktop-class architecture. Yes it may deliver upto 1.8 times the CPU performance. Yes it has almost double the graphics performance of iPad Air 2.

The sound! Oooh! it is rocking and it is loud! louder! loudest! Audiophiles are in for long lasting best quality sound and battery juice combo ever.

And Yes! it comes with 5.6 million pixels, highest ever resolution Retina display of any iOS device yet.

But! it simply may not make sense in getting a bigger iPad which is still bereft of laptop-like features.
