Asus Eee Reader has Dual Touchscreens. Better than Sony, Kindle?

We don’t know yet, but rumors of this First dual screen Asus Eee Reader are flowing out.

This new Eee reader is a Touchscreen Reader that takes the shape of your books –Two sided. I’m not sure how much will that help practically since we can read only one at a time, other one contributing only to the Battery wastage thereby reducing battery life.

One attractive thing about Eee is it’s price. Its rumored to come out around christmas holidays and price would beat both Sony PRS-600 and Kindle.

Asus pretty much kick-started the whole netbook craze, so it’ll be interesting to see if they can shake up e-book readers, too. A second display could be used for a virtual keyboard and Web browsing, allowing the device to even compete with netbooks. The company says it’s also thinking about built-in speakers, and a Webcam/microphone for cheap Skype calls. But won’t a Tablet PC serve this better? May be Apple’s Tablet is the answer.

Budget and premium versions are likely, and it’s expected the pricier option would feature 3G.  The Times says Asus is aiming closer to around $160. Previous Eee PCs have been cheaper than the competition, so you just never know.
