*sigh* None of these worked for me. This was very informative, though. I think it’s about time to call it quits on my four year-old iPod classic…it’s been more trouble than it’s worth, lately. I really wish Apple wasn’t so pompous as to charge for tech support…I already paid $250 for the damn thing. The least they could do is tell me why it’s having such problems out of the blue.

Tried the format and restore technique while using the software suggested and the iPod that I’m babysitting tells me its write protected. Is there a way to go around this?
