If booting is stuck with apple logo, you can try this method:Shut down VM completely, open Mac OS Snow Leopard.vmx file in text editor, look for smc.present=”TRUE” line. Change this value to FALSE. So, it will be smc.present=”FALSE”.

Like the tutorial it’s very helpful, though I am having 2 problems, which may or may not be related. 1st. Powering the virtual machine with Darwin_snow.iso VM hangs just saying “loading…” when I hit a key on the keyboard the message is “loading…cancelled”. I now get the boot menu. I change to the DVD and everything works until I get to the Apple screen where it is detecting a hard drive. At this point no hard drives show up and the message is ongoing “Examining Available Drives…”

At this point I can go no further

Any help is always appreciated.

I’m using Windows 7. I set the VM for 4GB Ram, 1 Processor, 200GB hard drive space.

I had this problem too. My problem was the wrong Mac OS X Version. With the 10.6.x it works perfectly.

I config vmware bios by press f2 before boot by darwin and change cpu from 1.4 into 1.1

Hello All, I have Snow leopard correctly running within vmware 7 with no issues. I installed the VMSvga2 beta that enables graphics acceleration to allow preview to work. My question is though, i can only allocate 1 GB of RAM. If i allocate anything higher, however the Mac OS will still only see 1 GB. What do i need to do in order to get the OS to see and use more than 1 GB? I am on an AMD HP dv7-4065dx using the snow legacy darwin.iso boot loader. (Empire EFI)

I had the same problem, i clicked on Virtual Machine > Removable Devices > CD/DVD (IDE) > Connect and then it just appeared! luuuckyyyyyy
