In case this helps anyone else. I just did this install and at Step 8, instead of getting Darwin boot options, I got a blank text screen that indicated "boot1: error:" Google didn't show any resolutions, but after re-checking my steps, I went back into my BIOS and noticed that my SATA setting had been reset to RAID. Setting it back to AHCI (as per step 2) solved this and I was able to continue on.

Total newbie so please bear with me. Trying to put universal on a Gateway M6827 with Intel Core 2 Duo T5750, Intel GM695 and 3 Gigs memory.

Want to install Universal 3.5 and then Windows 7, but not sure how to format Seagate 250 GB. I've tried one GUID partition and 2 MBR. How should I format the hd using a Mac to do so?

What do you know about the torrent Mac_OS_X_10.6.2_Patched_for_PC_UNIVERSAL.5269611.TPB? Would it be worth trying?

All of your methods are great, but none have worked for me on the Gateway. Got started yesterday on Universal, but the installed reverted back to Choose your language. Second attempt only gave a blinking horizontal dash.

Being a newbie, I'm confused about how to read replies you've made to comments. How can I read your replies to comments?

Thanks.

Hello everyone. First of all, I want to thank taranfx and all the other developers who spend hours deciphering and coding to make these types of mods possible. I truly thank you.

I Have a unique issue that I would like to share and see if maybe an answer could be found.

I installed Snow V3.6, per this guide, onto an Asus P5E3 Deluxe Mobo running a Q9300 Quad core. Everything installed with no hick-ups, can read from install cd, load apps from cd, etc.. Also installed the KP patch. The problem is when I get to the point where I try to start the computer for the first time from the hard drive.

I use the -v command during the Darwin bootup and this is the last message I get before the screen goes black and the computer doesn't do anything (#'s to the side denote the readout line):

1) ** Device in slot: SLOT-1 **
2) NTFS driver 3.1 [Flags: R/W].
3) NTFS volume name WinXPClass, version 3.1.
4) ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start -
4) waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement)
5) FakeSMC: key not found BEMB, length - 1

I'm guessing there are additional Kexts I need for this board. Almost everything on the board has been disabled in BIOS and I have tried every combination of BIOS settings to try and get this resolved. Please let me know if there is another direction I can take.

iPad has an e-book reader application, but it will not save the newspaper and book industries. As an e-book reader, iPad's ability in selective reading is not strong, and it is currently only able to read 60,000 books. Users can not clearly read under the light along. iPad weighs about 1.5 pounds, so it can last some time and you will feel iPad very heavy. In contrast with this product, the Amazon Kindle e-book reader weighs only 10 ounces. The books from the Apple bookstore cannot be read in other devices. Even using Apple's Mac or iPhone, can not read these books either. When the iPad is vertical, it is the bad experience to make text input on the keyboard in the screen. And when it is turned 90 degrees, the keyboard is unable to use basically.iphone case

It all runs well for me. However the second time it boots none of my HW works except for the mouse and screen and sometimes the keyboard. Also when I install anything (e.g. the iphone programming tools) it works once then after reboot it won't launch that program anymore. Really frustrating. This is on a stock HP 6730b laptop on a MBR partition of the main HDD.

Hi,
I have attached two HDs, one contains the Windows 7, other has a empty partion which I made for MacOS, when I get into the darwins boot thing.... it asks me to enter two hexadecimal values where I have 2 options, 80 (hd,0) and 81(hd,1), and if I select 80 then it does nothing and again asks for the same thing, and if I enter 81, then it asks me to choose from two partitions which I have on that particular disk which includes one for MacOS.... and then choose any option it says BOOTMGR is missing, Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart....
Plz help....
