That was true in like 1998/1999, before Windows 2000/XP was first released. Windows 2000/XP is not released on “TOP” of MS-DOS like all other prior versions. Versions released on “TOP” of DOS include, Windows ME, Windows 98 SE, Windows 98, Windows 97 (Memphis), and Windows 95. Windows 3.12, Windows 3.11, Windows 3.1, Windows 3.0, and all prior versions of Windows required the user already had MS-DOS installed to actually install Windows, and therefore they don’t count.

I tried iAtkos, I just get “you need to restart your computer”, the kernel panic screen. No fix I could find does anything.

Here is one big problem with installing mac and windows on same pc.
If you want to install mac, you must mage your HDD as GUID Partition Table , otherwise you wouldn’t install mac, and after that – when you make your hdd to GPT, then you wouldn’t install Windows on same HDD, becouse Windows couldn’t install on GPT hdd. Windows need MSDOS partition table hdd to install,
If I am mistaken – fix.

hiii i have a acer on intel core 4gb ram currently running on windows 7 i have an iso image of Mac disk but every time i try burn it to a disk i get an I/O error when it reaches 98% i have also tried many disk and also a powerful external dvd writer?????

Hi taranfx,
i have problem after getting installed Mac OS 10.5.6 on my pc.
at the step number 8 in abobe steps. i dont find Type “Generic x86 Pc” in EASYBCD under mac tab.
after successfully installtion of mac os it was not rebooted MAC and asks for installtion again and again.
currently in my system i have installed windows XP and vista both.
should i have to remove XP and vista?
vista is not in primary partition.

i have kinda problem after rebooting and typing -ve
it gives me 4 errors and then turns to other screen
wrote om last line: Darwin kernel version 9.5.0: sat Dec 6 19:39:54 1st2008; vodoo; release 1.0 nu-1228.7.58/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_1386

Hi there Taran, great instructions by the way, found them through google and followed them word for word, had a few problems and got some help from a friend but now that helps has disappaeared so i am at a loss.

I managed to install the OSX via iPC, everything went smoothly, just a couple minor problems and one MAJOR problem preventing me from using the OSX itself.

1. the keyboard&mouse are not detected but luckily i have a spare USBkeyboard&mouse that i can plug in and they are detected fine, this problem is not major but would be good if could be solved.
2. No audio, no audio detected whatsoever!
2. the MAJOR problem is that no matter how hard i try i can’t seem to get the internet to work, not via AirPort, or Ethernet, or any other way, nothing is detected and i have literally read all of the help articles on the mac through about 5 times, trying every possible way, all to no avail

I would really appreciate this problem solved as I could really do with having internet access, as the OSX has taken over my previous Windows7 installation, and even with installation disk it doesnt work! please help!!

Indeed i need a little more.. i have a problem i successfully installed mac OS on intel motherboard with core2duo processor and 2gb ram.. everything works great except internet connectivity, It says ethernet port not connected.. i tried installing Atheros but still i am not able to access internet. Please help me in getting internet on my mac..

Hi there guys,

I Followed this tutorial about installing mac osx leopard, using the iPc 10.5.6 version.

I managed to install it sucessfully but when i restarted the machine nothing happend and my win 7 started booting. I thought that the mac osx boot wasn’t loading so i downloaded easybcd and added the mac osx boot to my Boot list.

When i select the mac osx to boot it loads me the chameleon boot loader with another hard drive selected by default. When i hit F8 i can select my MacOSX to load, when i enter -v and press enter i see some loading Darnwin x.x. loader, loading mach_kernel, loaded /xxx/Xxx/xx, loaded /xxx/XXx/XXx, and then it crashes it doesn’t reports any error just get’s stuck after that.

Do you have any idea of what could be my problem?

I have a problem, at the end when it ask to reboot, i rebooted and after it tells me that no operating system was found, but i havent done yet de dual boot norenter windows but i think it should right after go into OSX.

If your installation went all the way, it could mean a video driver incompatibility…
