Motorola building Google Phone

Nexus one is Android industry accelerator, giving Google a strong hold into mobile market.  The torch is now in hands of Motorola to come up with Next Google Phone: Nexus Two (name not confirmed).

Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha confirmed today that his company is working in partnership with Google on an Android phone to be sold directly to consumers via google.com/phone, On a conference call with analysts Thursday. The purpose remains same, boost Google’s effort to bypass telcos and to reach consumers.

Further, Jha made clear the phone is to be released this year, along with 19 other new Motorola smartphones, all likely running Android.

Motorola Droid achieved fair amount of sales, but more hopes rely on “Nexus Two”.

Motorola delivered weak Q4 sales due to strit ccompetition from AppleNokia. There on, Motorola’s revamped mobile phone strategy is aligned around the Google Android. Motorola‘s Q4 performance showed that the company continues to lose ground in mobile phones, which was partially offset by Android phone sales.

Now the question how strong will this come-back be. For customers, it’s jsut another gadget that could rise or die in ashes, But it’s more or less like a last hope for the company.
