Nokia 5800: First touchScreen phone by nokia. Definitely sucks!

Definately sucks!
Definitely sucks!

Remember what it used to feel with touch screen phones pre-iPhone?

Here is an outdated new phone by Nokia which will let your memories go fresh. This is a pathetic little touchscreen phone with the feel of Symbian UIQ3 that you used to get with previous generation phones like sony Ericsoon M600i, p990i.
The overall interface is sluggish slow just like any other symbian s60 phone. Well, Nokia by releasing this phone has proved that they are 5 years behind the other mobile manufactures. They did it today what sony did it 5 years ago. They tries to compete iPhone but they couldnt even make it up to Sony. lol. Nice joke Nokia!
Watch the video Reviews and you decide, how much does it suck. It will be available in India for around Rs. 19k. Not worth it.

  3. This is not the first nokia touchscreen. Can`t you make a review with true information, but i agree that it sucks it can`t compare to the iphone and the fact that thats not their first touchscreen make it even more patethic.
nokia 7700 and 7710 were the first.

  4. I think its a pretty cool phone. It has all the features that you may ever need like wifi, 3g, 3.2mp cam, secondary cam, 3.2 inch screen, and that too in a price 1/4 that of Iphone.
I think its a good deal to go for.

    • Dude, do you know that you are actually making a fool of your self here? Let me tell you why.
      1. The Nokia 5800 firmware is the Symbian S60v5, which is a really old OS and there are already new symbian OS available, and the Symbian S60 are not made for touch screen phones.
      2. If you can say that the 5800 doesn't lag, you are obviously living in a world full of lags, maybe having an eye check or a brain treatment would help.
      3. What era are you living in? the 70s? the iPhone has a video camera which is available to record videos at 720p which is HD videos. Please, come back to 2010, okay?
      4. I pity you dude, have you actually surfed the internet before? Have you really see a REAL INTERNET website before? The 5800 loads web pages like shit if you ask me.
      5. There is no such thing as a iPhone 2G you IDIOT! There are only iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4. Seriously, stop this iPhone bashing if you happen to really be so dumb and you got scammed by someone and bought those China iPhone rip-offs.
      6. 5800 has a 3.2MP camera, while the iPhone has 5MP camera with 720p video recording. Please, did you pay attention in maths class and learn those numbers properly in kindergarten?
      7. I bet your one of those fuzzy kids that gets angry because your parents didn't get you the iPhone you want and bought you a 5800 instead which is totally unusable.
      8. Please use google to research more before you post, and seriously, I have to ask again, which era are you from?
      9. Lastly, Nokia now has a new series of smartphones running on the latest Symbian/firmware called the Symbian^3, which is much better than the Nokia 5800. While the Nokia 5800 can't even beat their brothers running symbian^3 how do you expect the 5800 to be a iPhone killer, even Android pawns the 5800.

      • 1. Old OS, yes. S60v3 was meant for non-touch phones. 5800 has S60v5. But, it works just fine.
        2. Lag, yes. But, so do other phones in its range.
        3. iPhone 4 has HD recording. 5800 came at a time when iPhone 3G was popular (I dont think 3GS arrived at that time). Comparing two phones at completely different price ranges is illogical. iPhone 4 costs as much as a PC .If I claim iPhone 4 is under-powered compared to a 2ghz, 4gb ram , 500gb PC would it make sense ? same here.
        4. Which browser did you use? The in-built browser is terrible, but other browsers like Opera Mini and Bolt work just fine
        5. I believe he was referring to the original iPhone, which did NOT have 3G.
        6. iPhone 4 has a 5mp camera. The earlier iPhone versions had less capable cameras. Refer point 3.
7,8. Either you are an apple fanboy or a troll or both
        9. Again, point 3. I think the previous poster was referring to the iPhone which was around when 5800 was newly launched.

5800 still sells in good numbers even though it is around 2 years old, and the last time I heard, its price hasnt reduced much over the last 8 months or so. That should give you something to think about. I bought a 5800 last year and I am satisfied with it – good audio quality, good camera (it has a lot of options which are missing in other phones), WiFi, 3G ,TV out, good screen and many other features which I regularly use. Even now, the number of phones offering all these features at that price range is very less. The only problem is the limited number of new apps for Symbian compared to Android or iOS.
