Samsung Galaxy S8 specs, leaks roundup – everything we know

Samsung Galaxy S8 is gonna be a ground breaker. Thats what every company says about their Flagship phone. In case of Samsung, the Note 7 battery debacle has to be overcome, not to mention the ever increasing competition from Apple iPhone.

Design: Samsung is rumored to let go of the ‘push’ Home Button and embed it into screen glass. Although Google collaborated with HTC to develop Pixel phone, they haven’t diverged from the iPhone 6 / 6s / iPhone 7 dimensions and design. Samsung has always dared to go beyond the set frontiers.

Screen will be curved at both the ends, Samsung may curve top and bottom of the screen in an ergonomic way too.

Display: Samsung’s AMOLED has come of age. The present day Galaxy S7 screen is the best that any phone currently has. Even if we trust the rumors that Samsung will not improve much on Galaxy S8 display, it will still keep the phone among the Tops in displays. To set new benchmarks, however, it has to leave every other phone’s throat filled with pixels.

Apple’s retina display was the tipping point for the Pixel war and every generation of Samsung Galaxy S has been exceeding iPhone in this department. Even as the curved display is a challenge to mesh pixels to perfection.

Sound: Maybe they’ll drop the 3.5 mm jack like Apple and break away from the tradition. But the in-built speakers have to take giant leap, while overcoming the challenges to keep the phone splash / water resistant.

Memory: Rumor mill is buzzing around the Galaxy S8 memory specs. A 6GB RAM is considered eminent. This will give Android OS good amount of breathing space and allow bulky TouchWiz to operate at ease.

Under the Hood: Better CPU and GPU would promote better VR and 4K outputs. Considering the currently available chipsets, the phone may be powered by Qualcomm SnapDragon 830 chip.

Performance: Galaxy S8 has to have smooth UI and not be bloated with bulky TouchWiz features.

Camera: Samsung has to bring itself back to the Top with a ground breaking camera tech. World has already seen multiple element lenses, optical image stabilization, dual cameras, bigger apertues. Galaxy S8 got to overcome Google Pixel top position in benchmark rankings.

Battery: Goes without saying, a Better and Safer  battery is a must. Need to choose vendor intelligently.

The YouTube videos of Samsung Galaxy S8 also feature a tiny projector placed next to rear camera. Maybe in future you could just hold the phone against a wall for big screen Video chats. Or maybe use the phone as a personal movie projector.

All in all, it has to leave a long pace ahead of nearest competitor Apple iPhone 8 so that competition stays at bay for a long while.
