Is your modern life and gaming habits making you lazy? Do you need a reason to workout? Here’s a one.

How about a game controlled by effort? By using your iPad, iPhone’s camera and accelerometer, BitGym can control the game, while you are making effort to burn those extra calories. You can keep the iDevice on your exercise equipment of choice. Harder you workout, more vibration are created that drives your game forward, of course, at the rate you workout.

The first one of its kind is a racer that converts rate of exercise to acceleration and head movement to steering. While you move your head around, you control the direction car steers to.

The developers will make an SDK available for just about every developer to leverage this platform.
Fitness Freeway is available now, and you can get a preview in the video below:

Fit Freeway is easy to play. The exerciser simply places an iPad or iPhone on the fitness equipment, (e.g. an exercise bike or elliptical trainer) and begins their workout. No special hardware or cables required – just the iOS device and the exercise equipment. Using BitGym’s patent-pending algorithms and motion sensing technology, Fit Freeway senses the rate of the exercise on the equipment, as well as the head position of the user. Exercise faster the accelerate your car and simply tilt your head left or right to steer.

“We think that FitFreeway is just the start for BitGym. We have ambitious plans to change the way people think about cardio. For too long people have been told to worry about minutes, miles or calories – but really what is important is that people are engaged, have tangible goals, and keep coming back. Cardio machines are awful at all these things, but with videogames we can change that. Research out of the Behavioral Medicine Laboratory at the University of Virginia sees cardio machine exergames increasing workout adherence by 83%,” says Alex Gourley, BitGym’s CEO.

Spoiler: It can work without actually working out too, just by shaking the iPad, iPhone. But don’t go lazy

We’ve talked about P2P multiplayer games over Wifi, bluetooth, internet between different android devices. But If you’ve two android devices (Phone, tablet, or TV) you can even use one of them as a Gamepad to control Games on the other using Bluetooth.

The app is called BT Controller and is available for free. Initial setup is easy and quick, within seconds you can start playing the games across android devices. BTController turns your Android device into a bluetooth gamepad, allowing you to remotely control emulator games running on another device (the host).

Of course, BT Controller must be installed and running on both the devices – the host as well as the controller. At the time of writing, the app only works with a handful of game emulators, and supports controlling one Android device with the other over Bluetooth connection only, but support is extending.

BT Controller already works with various Emulators for Mame, Playstation, CPS2 and N64 games:

Games supported: Riptide GP

Emulators:

DroidEmuLite

Snesoid

Nesoid

Gensoid

N64oid

FPse [PSX]

Tiger Arcade [CPS2]

Mupen64Plus, AE [N64]

Mame4Droid [Mame]

For full list and downloading the app, goto app on android market.

The app also supports haptic feedback which can also be disabled.

Game developers initially struggled to bring “real” gaming experiences to smartphone, but now we actually see some First person shooter doing well on iOS & Android smartphones, Tablets.

The traditional first-person shooter genre finally looks to have matured on the mobile platforms and Modern Combat 3, among the best we’ve ever seen on any mobile platform.

(click on images for fullsize screenshot from 720p HD Android phone)

Modern Combat 3 Fallen Nation and Frontline Commando arrived on Android, after being released on iOS. Definitely these games raise the bar for smartphone shooters.

Gameloft’s Modern Combat 3 Fallen Nation ($6.99) brings the Call of Duty experience to Android phones with nearly a GB of game data download post-apk installation.

Storyline
The storyline, thin as it is, follows that splinter extremist groups from North Korea, Pakistan and Russia have banded together to form the “KPR,” and somehow managed to take over a large swath of the United States. As a member of Phantom Squad, the player undertakes a variety of high-risk covert missions to help turn the tide.

Gameplay, Controls
Playing a FPS on mobile screen can be challenging. You would really need a large display like the one we used here was 5.3″ to make more room for controls and display. Overall, the controls are very sensitive but there is a lag that can make playing game a challenge in fast-aim-shooting scenarios. I think Gameloft understands this problem well, Touchscreens (~50-100ms) are not as fast as your joysticks or keyboards (~5ms) on desktops, and that’s why guns can auto-aim when your gun points close to the target.
We didn’t play much with controller settings, but we did get better results by reducing the sensitivity of controls. That way, we avoided overshooting the orientation.

Graphics
What the game lacks in originality it makes up for in sheer quality. But make no mistake, MC3 is extremely derivative and offers up virtually nothing FPS fans haven’t seen before. The game runs off a proprietary Gameloft engine and looks absolutely fantastic. More importantly, on dual core phones, and tablets, the action remains fast and silky smooth throughout. When playing on an Hummingbird processor or equivalent single-core 1ghz, experience is distracting.

I’ve to admit, this game has the best Physics, motion graphics ever delivered to a game on a smartphone. For our tests, Galaxy Note gave us a good framerate with high detail. We presume game doesn’t run on phone’s native resolution (~ 1280×800) but the graphics were Rich and detailed to the degree we can expect it to deliver a Rich FPS experience.

Audio
We tested the audio with out AudioTechnica M50 headphones. Audio effects in the game are realistic, the gun shots, the explosions, foot steps, everything was detailed to a level we can appreciate. The music and dialogues are clear and easy to distinguish. Audio did seem to use some sort of surround effect, like EAX that we’ve on desktops, but we can be wrong.

Official MC3 Trailer

iControlPad had been teasing us since long now, but finally we get to see the finished product which supports both iOS (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad) & Android devices.

Originally, they planned to support just iPhone with a connector but later it was modified to work over bluetooth, making it compatible with almost any Smartphone out there over Bluetooth HID profile that works as a Joypad on un-jailbroken iPhone and Unrooted Android, of course.

The flash chip inside means that the firmware for the iControlPad can be upgraded and new features added as the years go on. The built-in 1350mAh battery powers the controller but can also connect to your phone directly and boost its battery life.

Best of all, iControlPad can play iCade games straight from the App Store without jailbreaking or it will run emulator software so you can play your favorite classics from various Emulators on Cydia. Android users will find hundreds of compatible apps in the Market.

iControlPad Specifications

Fully functional Bluetooth gaming controller for smartphones (but you can also use it with computers, tablets, and consoles – anything with Bluetooth!)

Compatible with almost every Bluetooth enabled smartphone

Hundreds of Android apps work with the iControlPad using Bluez IME, an input handling program. Also, games that support BT Gamepads or Keyboards and let you map keys will work out of the box with iControlPad.

Dual analog nubs, digital D-Pad, 6 face buttons, 2 rear buttons

Emulator software compatible with jailbroken iOS devices or Android/WebOS devices:

MD.emu

SNES9x EX

NES.emu

GBC.emu

PCE.emu (PC-Engine, Arcade like console)

NGP.emu (NeoGeo Pocket)

iMAME4ALL

FPSE

Universal holder attaches securely to almost any phone. The following models have been tested and definitely fit in the iControlPad:

iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S

iPod Touch 1st, 2nd/3rd, 4th Gen

Blackberry Torch

Galaxy2, Galaxy 2S

HTC Magic / MyTouch 3G

HTC Desire HD

LG Ally

LG Optimus S

Nexus One

Nokia N8

Zii Egg

Motorola Backflip

We’ve said this before, and now re-iterating the fact that best feature of iPhone 4S is its camera & GPU. The new graphics processor is quiet powerful for rendering complex graphics.

From what we know about A5 from iPad 2, the embedded GPU is quiet powerful and beats dual core phones like Samsung Galaxy SII. SGS2 sports Exonys processor, which is not as powerful as Nvidia Tegra2. So, its pretty much to be seen if iPhone 4s’s A5 can beat Tegra2 GPU. Having played Tegra 2 games on my Galaxy Tab 10.1, I definitely feel Tegra 2 is quiet powerful with games that are designed exclusively for the Tegra platform.

However, Linpack benchmark gives us a totally different story: A5 on iPad 2 beats the hell out of Tegra 2 on Galaxy Tab & Xoom. However, in the real world Gaming on Tegra2 has that PC level feel to them, we hope to see the same in smaller form factor A5 device, iPhone 4S.

In both CPU and GPU performance Apple’s A5 processor left NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 in the dust, performing at least 2x faster and sometimes even 5x faster. So, the answer to the initial question – Apple is not only able to compete with other chipmakers, but as of now they have the best ARM dual-core processor on the market.

Firemint is teasing us with their latest game designed for iPhone 4s: Real Racing 2. Other than superb graphics, it can streaming not just one device to your big screen, but four – four-player streaming over AirPlay. The apps’ upcoming “Party Play” feature lets an iPad 2 or iPhone 4S play host to up to three additional iOS devices running the game, piping the stream for all four to your boob tube via Apple TV. The update also promises to make the most of the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S’A5 processor, kicking the graphics up a notch.

Apple demoed Infinity Blade 2 at the launch event, the graphics look breathtaking. the dynamic lighting is one of the best we’ve seen on phones, so far.

While Xbox 360 vs PlayStation 3 fight is ON for years, hardcore gamers know the best way out: Buy both. PS3 best for its exclusive titles and better graphics for most FPS, (& Kinect) on Xbox 360.

But it could be even better if you can get both Xbox 360, PS3 in one box: A Hybrid. A modder has managed to fit PlayStation 3 fat and Xbox 360 slim together into one well designed case. Of course the package gives out two video outputs to drive different displays, enabling Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games to be played simultaneously.

The design is not consumer class, but enough to satisfy modder’s taste. Going by facts, its all well ventilated and cooled knowing the fact that these two machines together can generate a lot of heat. There’s no expensive liquid cooling deployed here, its just a powerful air cooling fan that takes care of spitting out all the heat, without any trouble.

Modder claims that the console temperature doesn’t go above 5 degrees than the ambient room temperature, however, mileage may vary.

While the product is not for sale you can sure learn how to DIY when modder releases the tutorial.

Qualcomm is betting big on mobile processors as they are competing directly against the graphics leader – Nvidia. Nvidia had been doing pretty well with its current generation dual core – Tegra 2 and has shown promised graphics performance with Tegra 3 quad cores, scheduled for year end.

Qualcomm is claiming that its next generation of Snapdragon chips would beat current generation of processors used in gaming consoles like PS3. That’s a big claim, but noting the facts laid out by Sony PS Vita, these look real.

S4 codenamed ‘Krait’ devices would launched by end of the year. S4 would be first 28nm quad core processors and run Adreno 225 GPU – Quad core cpu + Adreno 225 aim to blow away the fluidity of PS3 graphics.

Qualcomm S

There are four new tiers of processor, named S1 to S4. That “S” stands for “System”, with the number referring to how powerful the chip is.

S1 includes standard handsets such as the HTC Droid Incredible and Sony Ericsson X10i, S2 is featured in more powerful phones like the HTC Thunderbolt and LG Revolution, and S3 powers uberphones and tablets such as the HTC Sensation and HP TouchPad.

Portable Gaming & Future

Portable gaming is going to pave the way to future. Already Android and iPhone has together eaten the major percentage of mobile market and they would start interfering with consoles next year. Imagine this – plug your mobile to a TV and use it like a console or wirelessly stream video. If not in a year, you would see this in practice 2 years from now.

2012 is the year of Quad cores. Nvidia Tegra 3, Snapdragon S4, and Intel is jumping in too. Apple isn’t holding back either, iPad 3 (or iPad 4) and iPhone 4 are going to be A6 quad core too.

Modern smartphones have accelerometers and gyrometers that can do motion sensing to a small number of degrees of freedom.

Now the nine-axis modular sensing system is making its way to all three platforms: Android, iPhone, WP7. The server brings motion-controlled gaming to mobile environments, capturing position data from matchbox-size modular sensors that you can tape to a wooden sword or Viking helmet for live-action outdoor role-playing. With Aiken’s Immersive Motion, you can get a deeper and richer experience in Augmented reality apps. Basically, the sensors lie in the phone and are capable of transmitting information wirelessly up to 50 foot range.

Alternatively, you can also connect up to two smaller wired sensors to each wireless sensor, for about $50 a piece.

The kit is actually priced high by Aiken at $300 that would prevent it from being seen at any other places other than hardcore gaming geeks and niche developers. However, the company believes that the price can be brought down with mass production. Apart from that, the 9-axis motion sensing can be useful in other industries like research and Hollywood, where it could be used as a (relatively) low-cost outdoor motion-capture suit.

Sony announced the Future of its portable gaming console PSP; the next generation Portable device would be called PlayStation Vita or just PSVita. We already know about PSVita NGP specs sporting a Quad core processor and 12 core GPU that brings PS3 games to PSVita.

Sony would be targeting portable Gaming under two segments: Casual gamers : Android based Xperia Play phone aka PSP Phone. The hardcore gamers would fall for Sony’s NGP. Sony claimed that PSP2 Graphics as powerful as PS3, seems like its true.

PSVita features a 5-Inch OLED display, big enough for any portable device, but the device is still light enough thanks to plastics.

PSVita Specs:

It is powered by a quad-core A9 Quad core processor (Nvidia Tegra 3) and 256MB of RAM, down from 512MB, sparking rumours that it’s had its specs slashed for a cheaper price.

Screen: 5″ 16M colors, resolution: 960×544, Technology: OLED touchscreen.

Camera: Twin cameras

Audio: Twin speakers and a microphone.

Input: There are also twin analogue sticks

CPU: A quad-core processor based on the ARM Cortex A9.

GPU: SGX543MP4+, quad-core Imagination Technologies PowerVR graphics processor

Battery: 4-5 hours of gaming.

Connectivity: 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and 3G

GPS: AGPS, location-aware games via the PlayStation Network

Memory: Flash memory for storing Games, Media content.

Sensors: 3axis Gyroscope, 3Axis accelerometer, 3axis compass

The NGP includes a touch-sensitive back so you can control the on-screen action without hiding it behind your fingers. The screen’s multi-touch too. The combination of a touchy front and back is fascinating – Sony talks about it enabling “touch, grab, trace, push and pull hand movements.”

PSVista Hardware and Build quality

PSVista uses a glossy and matte plastic surfaces that are designed to give an awesome feel in your hands. The Start, Select and Power buttons gives it a unique outlook on the glossy front. The face buttons are smaller compared to the PSP or a DualShock 3, but they’re firm and comfortable to press, and there’s a nice floating D-pad on the left side.

There are a pair of iPod nano-like volume buttons and a pair of thin plastic covers just next to the shoulder buttons which are essentially similar to original PSP. The bottom of the system has a connector that connects to a proprietary USB and / or networking cables.
We must admit its light weight, but you would still feel the comfort during longer usages.

The screens are very responsive to touch and that would make sure that we would get really well made games and the experience for games like Uncharted and LittleBigPlanet is more than satisfactory.

With a game like Uncharted you can easily navigate through obstackes very easily by swiping from ledge to ledge. If touchscreen is not your cup oif tea, you can stick with dual analog sticks and you will have no trouble squeezing off a few headshots in Uncharted with a little bit of practice.

Graphics / Gaming Experience:

You couldn’t ask for more, the display is gorgeous and huge that can provide the near PS3 experience while on the move. The graphics are rich and superb for a device of that size.

Checkout the gaming performance in the handson video below:

The NGP you see here is a dev unit; they’re the right size, but they don’t possess that final PlayStation-quality fit and finish. The final product would be a lot better.

Gaming Titles on PSVita Handson

As of now, 5 titles have been announced, more coming soon. Checkout the videos below:

Pricing & Availability

PSVita would be available soon at a hefty price of $249 for Wifi version and $299 for 3G.

Overall

Overall, we were very impressed with the over all feel, and the mechanics of the PS Vita. LBP and Uncharted were by far the best games on Vita. Stay tuned for further details on this.

With devices like Nexus 3 powered by Tegra3, we would seeing insane power on mobile devices as early as Q4 2011.

Nvidia is now proudly showcasing the capabilities of its upcoming mobile processor with a new Glow Ball tech demo.Quad-core Kal-El processor, aka Tegra 3, shows it power with a demo that involoves true dynamic lighting on mobile devices along with some impressive physics calculations.

This would be a giant step ahead of static lights that we see on mobile games today, Tegra 3 can create light sources that responds realistically to its environment — all rendered in real time.

The demo was done on Honeycomb 3.1 at 1280 x 800 resolution and framerates clearly exceeded 50fps at all moments. All this was made possible using all 4 cpu cores and 12 core GPU thats embedded to Tegra 3 SoC. The production chip will be 25 to 30 percent faster than the one on display today.

Checkout the demo below:

If you are reading this, we are pretty sure that you have played Angry Birds atleast once in your lifetime. And if you’ve played it once, chances are that that you are addicted to it since a long while. From a Geek to a novice, almost everyone seems to like it all the way.

Angry Birds, for the first time has invaded the Robotics. Of course they dont feel the love, but they surely can play the world’s most popular game on mobile.

OptoFidelity has now been developing robotic test automation products for a while and it was one day when they came up with a whacky idea of making robots playing games on mobile.

The purpose is of course not time wasting or entertainment, but its specifically designed to create an expert (or ideal) user to automate all kinds of Real-world testing for mobile applications. And when its put into action, its perfection.

These Robots are are based on RealTime systems designed using FPGAs. They are powered by NI products like NI CompactRIO, NI single-board RIO, NI LabVIEW. This application allows customers create their own driver to do different things, without modifying the core software. The customized driver would work with any hardware or application on any platform.

The upgrade beings significant jump in gaming performance making iMacs capable of handling all the lastest games smoothly. The 21.5” iMac comes in AMD 6750M and 6770M, while the 27” model adds a 6970M GPU. 27” iMac can push out 2560×1440 resolution display.

Here are some benchmarks which would give you some idea of the capabilities of these Apple desktops.
Gaming Performance

If you are a hard core Gamer, don’t look out for 6750M or 6770M. But the Radeon 6970M with 2GB of DDR5 RAM, handles almost any games quite easily. However, if you play them in 2560×1400 resolution, performance would suffer. If you stick the upper limit to 1920×1080, you would be happy with the performance even with high detail in just about any modern game.

Radeon 6750M

The weakest of these Radeon GPUs is best suited to running games with basic OpenGL games. If you plan to play latest games, you would have to stick with low detail settings. At 1280×800, StarCraft II and FIFA 2011 can give out 100 fps. With High settings most games deliver below 30fps at 1920×1080 with 16x anti-aliasing. Crysis 2 and Metro 2033 each slow to a 12fps crawl on ultra settings.

Radeon 6770M

With the higher clock speeds, it can deliver better performance than 6750M. At a resolution of 1360×768, several games like StarCraft II, DIRT 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare are playable at near 120fps.

Radeon 6970M

This is the one you want if you are serious about graphics. The 6970M sports double GDDR5 RAM at 2GB and stream processors at 960. At 1920×1080, Ultra settings, it was capable of give out 35fps in Crysis 2, 70fps in Black Ops and 58fps in StarCraft II. All these are decentnumber for a Core i7 Sandybridge.

AMD is taking the graphics to the next level by marrying their two best GPU chips together, which now beats the previous winner ATI Radeon HD 5970 – World’s Fastest Graphics Card by more than twice the performance.

The AMD HD 6980 is the world’s fastest dual-chip graphics card for screaming-fast gamer PCs, which can be added to a computer and power as many as five displays at full resolution.

AMD had recently launched few new APU (application processor unit) which is a FUSION of CPU & GPU on a single chip.

AMD claims that the new dual-card graphics card can run 1.4 to 1.8 times faster than a card with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 graphics chip. AMD claims you can achieve resolution upto 7680×1600 and still get outstanding speeds. And if you want more, put two of these graphics card ( equals four chips) you can double the performance.

There is a difference in strategy among the two companies: Nvidia typically has the fastest desktop graphics chip, while AMD can take the crown for the fastest graphics card with two chips in it. Its hard to say which one is a better strategy but gamers do get a choice.

AMD HD6990 graphics card, code-name Antilles, has two settings to make overclocking a child’s play. The card drains 450 watts of power, which is substantial but as far as the heat generation is concerned, the design enables each chip to dissipate the same amount of heat.

The total performance of HD 6990 exceeds 5.4 teraflops with each graphics chip having 2.64 billion transistors. It has 4 GB of GDDR5 memory and runs at 830 Mhz (overclockable to 880 megahertz). It has 3,072 stream processors.

AMD is also offering updates to its Gaming Evolved program, which supports open standards for gaming technologies, out of which main one is “Open Stereo 3D“,

AMD has now shipped more than 35 million graphics cards that are compatible with Microsoft’s DX11 graphics standard.

iPhone/iOS platform is rich for its apps and games and that’s why every game developer has atleast developed 2 tittles on the platform. Android market is versatile as well, but still lot of popular games are yet to be ported due to the time it eats to port individual apps to the new platform.

Java and Objective C have their own programming syntactical paradigms. I’ve been a programmer for both the platforms and I understand the effort required to rewrite whole app to make it work on another platform. On one side where iPhone/iOS platform demands MVC patterns everywhere, Android revolves heavily around UI/Activities. Games in particular use similar Open GL standards, but dies to syntactical differences can be painful for porting.

How to Port iPhone/iOS Games to Android

Unity Technologies made its Unity Android software to ease the pain for developers who are porting iPhone/iOS Games to android. According to the company, the process of porting a game from iOS to Android can be as simple as changing the target platform and clicking “Build.”

I’ve been testing their Unity software for few months now, and as far as I know, using Unity Pro for Android, over 50 game developers have ported titles from iOS to Android. Some of these include Rocket Bunny, Abduction, Samurai II: Vengeance, Breakout Kings, Castle Warriors, Doodle Bowling and others.

I just wish this app was free, but its not. Unity software is free but the Android add-on costs $400. Unity Pro goes upto $1500. Checkout about their licenses over here.

For those who heard the name “Unity Technologies” for the first time, they are quiet old and currently have over 400,000 registered users including major brands and indies, students and hobbyist developers, too that use them for building games for the Web, mobile and consoles as well as to create other interactive 3D content including training simulations and medical and architectural visualizations.

Unity Features:

Integrated Editor — Users can deploy a single project to multiple platforms, including Android, using a one-click solution that just works. Porting a game from iOS to Android can be as simple as changing the target platform and clicking “Build.”

Support for upcoming Android devices, including Tegra Tablets and the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY Smartphone — Users can be among the first to benefit from releasing games on the exciting range of Android-based gaming platforms.

Optimized Graphics Pipeline for OpenGL ES 2.0 — Unity Technologies has been working directly with hardware manufacturers such as NVIDIA and Qualcomm to get every last bit of performance out of Android so that users can create stunning games without worrying about the subtle difference between devices.

Android Remote — Developers can use their actual Android phone as an input device to view and test their game directly within the authoring tool.

You can download the Unity SDK from here.

Gaming on mobile devices is picking up, and we’re about to see notebook level games on mobile devices thanks to dual core processors. But Gaming console level game is still a far dream. But the latest trick lets you play Playstation 3 (PS3) Games on iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, easily.

Most VNC clients just let you access your PC, Mac remotely. They work fine for most of your applications but Gaming is out of the scope due to limited frame-rate over limited bandwidths and almost no support for controls/gestures. The new app called EveryAir beats these drawbacks by letting you control Games via on-screen gestures, as a result, your Gaming controls work flawlessly. In addition, the video works without a jerk bringing almost Native feel to the games right on your iOS device.

Checkout the video demo of World Of Warcraft and StarCraft 2 running on iPhone, iPad:

The app is very identical to OnLive, the cloud computing platform. The game processign happens on the real high-end hardware and is then streamed to iPhone, iPad, other iOS devices. The ability to play your own PS3 (and soon, Xbox 360) games from just about anywhere would also be seen on PC, Mac soon.

Preliminary App is available in App Store for $4.99

You can now retain your access to PSN Network, thanks to the work from the Rebug team. Folks at Rebug team have released Playstation 3 v3.56 spoofer that prevents your PS3 to be automatically updated to v3.56 firmware.

Note from the Rebug Team:

3.56 Version Spoofer does exactly what it says and can restore back to 3.55 if needed. It was never intended to allow PSN access but to stop the system from updating to 3.56. Once the PS3 is spoofed it will stay spoofed until it is uninstalled.

Press CROSS to INSTALL 3.56 Version Spoof (the status will change after 15 – 45 seconds telling you to reboot)

Press CIRCLE to UNINSTALL 3.56 Version Spoof (the status will change after 15 – 45 seconds telling you to reboot)

REbug team claims that PSN access is not present but ARVI at PSX-SCENE has come up with a way to use this with KMEAW jailbrokencustom firmware 3.55 by spoofing it to 3.56, and keeping the access to PSN.

How to retain/regain access to PSN

Download TOOLS
3.56 Spoofer DOWNLOAD
F*CK PSN DOWNLOAD (instructions, tools & CER27 to setup F*CK PSN are in this download)
LV2 Patcher V9 DOWNLOAD

Works perfect on KMEAW 3.55 (Only tested on Kmeaw 3.55)

lv2 Patcher needed until 3.56 spoof is supported in the game managers.

PSN Enabled with F*CK PSN.

Install Guide
1. Start machine and install 3.56_Version_Spoofer.PKG (Dont run anything else first)
2. Goto Playstation3 folder in the Game menu & Run Installed PKG “3.56 Version Spoofer”
3. Once loaded Press x to install.
4. When the program prompts for a reboot, power of the machine without quitting back to the XMB.
5. Power on the PS3. (System now spoofed to 3.56, check System info to clarify)
6. Run F*CK PSN on PC/Laptop (Download & install F*CK PSN on PC/Laptop, point PS3 DNS 1 to Computer running F*CK PSN, point DNS 2 to your router or 1 of youre ISP’s dns servers)
7. Sign-in to PSN
8. If loading games from a manager, Install lv2.pkg then Run LV2 Patcher from the Playstation3 folder in the Game menu (needs to be run every time before loading game fom a manager until support is enabled by the devs)
9. Run Game from disc or Game manager and enjoy online game play.

TO REMOVE 3.56 SPOOFER
1. Restart PS3 (Dont run anything else first)
2. Go to Playstation3 folder in the Game menu & Run Installed PKG “3.56 Version Spoofer”
3. Once loaded Press O to Uninstall.
4. When the program prompts for a reeboot, power of the machine without quiting back to the XMB.
5. Power on the PS3. (System now back to 3.55, check system info to clarify)

Important: Try the above at your own risk.

Sony’s seriousness with Gaming is sky high, as it unviels successor of its PSPGo, the portable gaming device. The new poratble gaming console is called Sony NGP aka Next generation Poratble, featuring some high-end specs to satisfy our tastes.

Sony would be targeting portable Gaming under two segments: Casual gamers : Android based Xperia Play phone aka PSP Phone. The hardcore gamers would fall for Sony’s NGP. Sony claimed that PSP2 Graphics as powerful as PS3, seems like its true.

After much rumour and speculation, Sony has unveiled the PSP2, which it has dubbed the NGP.

The Sony NGP endorses a five-inch, 16 million colour 960×544 OLED touchscreen with soem awesome techs underneath

Sony NGP Specs

Screen: 5″ 16M colors, resolution: 960×544, Technology: OLED touchscreen.

Camera: Twin cameras

Audio: Twin speakers and a microphone.

Input: There are also twin analogue sticks

CPU: A quad-core processor based on the ARM Cortex A9.

GPU: SGX543MP4+, quad-core Imagination Technologies PowerVR graphics processor

Battery: 4-5 hours of gaming.

Connectivity: 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and 3G

GPS: AGPS, location-aware games via the PlayStation Network

Memory: Flash memory for storing Games, Media content.

Sensors: 3axis Gyroscope, 3Axis accelerometer, 3axis compass

Dimensions: 182.0 x 18.6 x 83.5mm

Gaming Apps: Available via PSN, also plays Android Games.

The NGP includes a touch-sensitive back so you can control the on-screen action without hiding it behind your fingers. The screen’s multi-touch too. The combination of a touchy front and back is fascinating – Sony talks about it enabling “touch, grab, trace, push and pull hand movements.”

As far as Location based gaming is concerned, an application called Near will let you know if your friends are near you, just like Google Latitude.

The Design
Sony calls the PSP2′s shape Super Oval Design, which is one in the eye for anyone who expected mere Ordinary Oval Design. It looks quite like a PSP, we think. It’ll be 13mm longer than the PSP-3000 at 182mm in length – that’s big. Thickness? 18.6mm.

It seems that Sony’s Trophies system from the PlayStation Network will also appear so you can score points wherever you play – even on your Android mobile.

The PSP2 will play Android games; Android will get PlayStation games

The newly announced PS Suite is fascinating: it’ll bring PlayStation games to Android, and casual games from Android to the NGP.

Sony NGP Release date will be late 2011.

Sony isn’t going to let Nintendo 3DS take over the portable gaming.

The next PlayStation Portable will be a high-end portable equivalent of its next-gen home console, with rich games content to match. Sony has told licensees the device ‘is as powerful as the PlayStation 3′.

The PSP2 is expected to arrive within the Q4 period, perhaps as early as October, and includes a HD screen (720p) with twin-stick controls in the familiar ‘brick’ form factor. The point to be noted here is that this may not be actually be an android device, and rather a custom designed embedded gamer like original PSP. Sony might actually shift the focus of casual gamers to Sony XPERIA Play, an android based Gaming Phone. XPERIA play devices are essentially single core devices with some great GPUs. However, its quiet possible that PSP2 is actually an android device with Tegra2 Dual core processor, but nothing is yet sure about the device.

Sony has already been talking to Game developers, like EA, about launch timings and the first wave of games.

Sony is expected to teases these devices at E3, the big gaming conference.

‘PSP2′ would embed better ways to prevent game piracy by using a media format to make sure retail has a part to play in the console’s lifecycle by selling physical software. The device will also provide access to plenty of downloadable content, smaller games and apps via PSN – and maybe even incorporate a phone, but not as a primary function.

The PSP2 is targeting high-end games, and hardcore gamers. Even though the device will not be actually as powerful as PS3 consoles, they would look so on a smaller & lower res (720p) displays.

There are even some rumored PSP2 specs:

Forward- and backward-facing cameras.

A powerful four-core Cell CPU.

A touchscreen in addition to physical buttons.

Almost certainly no physical medium for games. Possibly 3G capabilities, though its more likely that the device is wifi dependent.

Few days back, failoverflow demoed that they had successfully installed custom Firmware on PS3, and achieve piracy of all sorts.

This PS3 Hack lets you Pirate PS3 games, Run Linux OS, Play PS1, PS2 Games on PS3.

KakaRoto has announced the details of the hack.

First CFW working. Grab http://bit.ly/hszcH3, then “./create_cfw.sh PS3UPDAT.355.PUP CFW.PUP”. Permanently adds “install pkg files” menu.

Folks at PS3hacks has detailed the process.

How to install Custom Firmware on PS3 for Pirated Games, OtherOS/Linux Support [PS3 Slim, Fat]

Download ps3 utilities and ps3 tools from github / team fail0verflow using these commands on your Linux PC:

git clone https://github.com/kakaroto/ps3utils.git

cd ps3utils

make

cd ..

git clone git://git.fail0verflow.com/ps3tools.git

cd ps3tools

make

cp pkg unpkg ../ps3utils

Grab the PS3 encryption/decryption/signing keys from github:

git clone https://github.com/kakaroto/ps3keys.git ~/.ps3

Download PS3 3.55 (or whatever official firmware PUP) from here

Extract and copy “PS3UPDAT.PUP” to the “ps3utils” directory

Create the PS3 Custom Firmware (CFW) from the original/official update (OFW):

cd ps3utils

./create_cfw.sh PS3UPDAT.PUP CFW.PUP

Copy and rename CFW.PUP to a USB storage device keeping this directory structure in mind: /PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP

Connect that USB device to your PS3 and install from Settings -> System Update

If you’re currently running 3.41 (or earlier) you can either remain there and create a specific CFW PUP for that version, or you can upgrade to a later PS3 firmware version, like 3.55 for example. It’s whatever original PUP file you use – only you cannot flash a version lower than the current version installed on your PS3. So if you’re already at 3.55, where you’re unable to downgrade, then for the moment you have no other choice but CFW (or OFW) 3.55. 3.41 on the other hand: upgrade or create CFW 3.41 and for the interim you’re still able to jailbreak and run unsigned ‘brews. See the other notes below.

Download: PS3 CFW 3.41 | PS3 CFW 3.55

Note:

This CFW does not modify the kernel in any way, meaning all the current compiled homebrew out there will not install or run using “Install Package Files” from the XMB.

With the above point in mind you should know this CFW does not enable piracy. No piracy, no backups – straight homebrew.

Current PS3 homebrew and new homebrew will need to be “retail” packaged and signed; that’ll happen with fail0verflow’s tools.

This is only the beginning. Prepare yourself for utter and absolute awesomeness.

PSN works.

PS1, PS2 games run in backward compatibility mode

You may need to install the CFW PUP from the PS3 Recovery Menu. To do that, follow these steps:

Ensure the PS3UPDAT.PUP is in /PS3/UPDATE/ on your USB device.

Power down the PS3.

Now press and hold the power button, the system will startup and shutdown again.

Release the power button, then press & hold power again, you’ll hear one beep followed by two consecutive beeps.

Release power then follow the on-screen instructions. You’re now in the recovery menu.

Connect the USB device and select “System Update.”

Hope for the best.

Note: you can restore OFW using the above method too.

PSJailbreak Exploit worked great hack and actually made pirated games possible because Hypervisor allows unsigned code to run on PS3.

It has now been Hacked again, this time to Enable Linux Installation, and even Play pirated games on PS3 & PS3 Slim. The good work was announced today at 27C3 congress by a group called fail0verflow which would make it possible to Install Full Linux OS (with 3d) and Pirated Games on Linux.

The first few minutes of the conference were spent explaining the state of security on other consoles (Wii, 360, etc). Following this, the group went on to explain the current state of affairs on the PS3. First, explaining Geohot’s memory line glitching exploit from earlier this year. The team then went on to explain the current PS3 security bypasses, such as jailbreaking and service mode/downgrading.

Approximately a half hour in, the team revealed their new PS3 secrets, the moment we all were waiting for. One of the major highlights here was, dongle-less jailbreaking by overwriting the bootup NOR flash, giving complete control over the system. The other major feat, was calculating the public private keys (due to botched security), giving users the ability to sign their own SELFs Following this, the team declared Sony’s security to be “EPIC FAIL”! Even though it took decade to break this security.

The recent advent of these new exploits means current firmware is vulnerable, v3.55 and possibly beyond. It will be very difficult for Sony to fix the described exploits.

The team then displayed the website http://fail0verflow.com/, where we assume they will host examples of the new exploits and further details. They stated, that easy to use tools would be coming next month.

Here is a video that actually explains the indepth details of How PS3 Hacks have worked in the past, and what’s the new fail0verflow Hack is about.

The iPad is Apple’s latest hit, lets owners enjoy all of the games and apps developed for the iPhone on a larger format that’s just as powerful and portable. With access to thousands of apps (and more added each and every week), iPad owners have a ton of choices when it comes to games to play, including a wide range of poker games.

iPad poker apps include single player games that pit you against computer opponents in tournaments and cash games as well as multi-player apps that let you sling chips with friends or compete against thousands of poker players from around the world. Top poker tournament series such as the World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour have each released poker games for the iPad that put players right in the poker tournament action they’ve previously only been able to watch on television or play in the Real world.

As far as multi-player poker games are concerned, the popular game developer “Zynga” offers a poker app for the iPad that’s very similar to the experience when you play poker online at sites such as Full Tilt or PokerStars. While you can’t play for real money, Zynga’s network lets thousands of poker fans play together at cash games and tournaments, making it quick and easy to find a seat in a game whenever you fire up your iPad to play.

If you’re a big online poker fan, it’d seem to be a natural fit but Apple’s strict policy on not approving gambling apps for distribution or sale in the App Store, Apple has left online poker fans out in the cold, so far.

The only real option to play online poker for real money on your iPad is to use a remote desktop service; this lets you use your iPad to access and control poker software installed on your desktop. It’s not a perfect solution and can be laggy, but it’s the only way at the moment to play online poker with your iPad. Use any of the RDP app that you get on the App store.

If you are desperate enough, try installing Frash on iPad to enable few flash games online.

You may not have thought about it, but its Real: Sony PlayStation phone is based on new version of Android: Gingerbread.

PlayStation Phone had been rumored a number of times in the past, but no one knew how Sony is going to design the new one. Atleast now engadget confirms that this is the new PS phone.

To drive the games, Sony will ship PS Phone with 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 processor, 512mb RAM, 1GB ROM, with a screen size of 3.8″. It would run games from the android marketplace along with a custom Sony Marketplace which will allow you to purchase and download games designed for the new platform.

The handset also has a long touchpad in the center which appears to do multi-touch. As far as the button schemes are concerned, everything should remain identical to original PSP. And yea, no Memory Stick slot, only microSD cards.

click for Full size image: credits engadget

The final product would definitely have better finish, look. It’s unlikely to arrive before the holidays; we’d bet on a Q1 or Q2 2011 release.

Lets hope that device actually performs better than iPhone 4 gen devices, after all its a dedicated Gaming phone.
