Apple might have sold iPhone 4 in millions in its first week but it could have been way better if it had not been exclusive on AT&T, in U.S.

The good things are inevitable, and Verizon Wireless will start selling the iPhone in January of next year, according to a report from Bloomberg. Unless you are living under the rock, you must be well aware of flawed antenna causing reception issues for AT&T / iPhone 4 users. Had it been Verizon, issue would have been trivial.

While there had been so many predictions in the past over iPhone and Verizon, this one comes with solid assets where Bloomberg is citing two people familiar with the matter.

iPhone 4 will not land as-is on the Verizon. As you might be aware, Verizon had been testing 4G LTE network over period of a year and as per the latest announcement, they plan to start servicing 4G services to nationwide mobile phones. In the beginning it would be more concentrated in the west, and then gradually expanding to the rest of the country.

Verizon will begin rolling out its LTE network in 25 markets starting on November 15th. While 25 markets might not sound like a lot, but apparently they’re enough to give 100 million subscribers access to the next-generation wireless network. LTE handsets will not be immediately available at launch, but Verizon is planning to release “a slew of new devices” on Black Friday which is on November 26th. LTE data plans will indeed be tiered, but Big Red won’t be pulling a Sprint and charing a $10 premium for access to its 4G network. Oh, and don’t be surprised if Verizon starts harping about how its “empowering the user” with open devices. [via]

Google finished off its overwhelming Google IO, now all eyes are now on the World Wide Developer Conference WWDC 2010 that Cupertino will be launching June 7.

Steve Jobs has assured that despite Google’s lead, Apple customers won’t be disappointed. The fourth-generation iPhone is aof course gained the maximum attraction, given at this point after an absurd number of leaks in recent weeks.

So lets try to summarize everything that has been rumored for this year’s WWDC:

Safari 5

Safari is still the most popular browser on Mac platform, and it is still pretty great, but the latest chrome leaves every browser in dust. Apple might change this as it’s been nearly an year since they updated safari browser: Safari 5 or Safari 4.5

MobileMe Free?

In order to compete with Google, Apple will have to do more on features and also make the Mobile.me service free or very low. Recent rumors show deeper prospectives.

iTunes: Streaming music, Lala

Apple purchased the online Streaming service Lala and now had plans to bring streaming to the iTunes. The plan could be like purchasing your music and store it into cloud, and later stream to any of your iDevice, over the air.

Google has dons so much for the cloud, Apple is seriously lacking here. This time, Apple will move on.

New Mac Pros — Finally!

Apple recently updated Macbooks but good old Mac Pros has been neglected, for about an year now.

Intel’s new Hex-core monster Core i7-980X processor has been rumored to be coming to Mac Pro. The processor was unveild about 2 months ago and Apple had been silent on this, but we could expect to see it now, after all Apple doesnt want to lose the creative professional customer base it has maintained over decades.

Their last year’s patent could also mean that newer Multitouch interfaces are coming for the Mac Pro

Mac OS X 10.7

WWDC was all about developers and less about a particular product. But Apple had been solely stressing on iPhone more than anything else. This worries the developers. It still remains doubtful when Apple would unveil the wraps off Mac OS X 10.7. Snow LEopard 10.6 was released less than a year ago, and later we saw 10.6.3 update followed by betas of 10.6.4 fixes.

We wont see the new interface or anything of that sort but it should be mentioned, Steve should talk about the upcoming features for the next OS.

iPhone OS 4.0 for iPad

We’ve already seen all of the cool stuff that’s presumably coming next month with iPhone OS 4.0, such as Folders, multitasking and threaded e-mail. But, iPad won’t get the 4.0 love until sometime this fall, by which time Apple will likely be on 4.1 or so.

Apple TV 2

Google TV based on android sure is a great idea. Why should apple hold back?

Rumors abound that Apple TV may get iPhone OS-ified and will adopt the tiny A4 architecture that will come standard in the next iPhone. Additionally, the new Apple TV will have 1080p HD and 16GB – 64GB of storage, as well as be a part of Apple’s rumored new cloud storage network. The best part about these rumors is that the device is slated to sell for only $99, and everything streamed right to the iPhone. Sounds amazing.

iPhone 4g/HD with iPhone OS 4.0

Its more than obvious, this is the most known as well as most awaited thing of all times. We already know so much about the new iPhone HD, thanks to the gizmodo’s leak. But wait a minute, what if Steve Jobs got comes on stage for his keynote on June 7th and presents an iPhone that was totally different from what Gizmodo and others have leaked? What if the that prototype was just an experimental dummy that never finalized, and we see all new iPhone 4G/ HD?

All rumors aside, this years iPhone upgrade would be the biggest we’ve seen so far, after all, they have to take the lead over Google Android.

And who knows if those intuitive Patents from January have something to do with latest iPhones

Read More: Our coverage of iPhone HD, iPhone 4G so far.

MacBook Air upgrade

Now that the MacBook and MacBook Pro lines have gotten a souped-up refresh, the MacBook Air is beginning to look a little more overpriced and underpowered than usual. We are expecting to see hardware upgrades with lower prices. In addition we can begin to expect touchscreens at this point.

iPhone CDMA & Verizon Love

This is something everty american user wants to see this year. Apple might just go ahead and do it now, and who knows iPhone 4G ais all about LTE and 4G CDMA networks.

iPod Touch Upgrades

iPod Touch will definitely get upgrades they were supposed to get last year. Theywill get new camera, hardware features making them even more attractive.

One More thing

We havent heard that phrase since a while now. Who knows if apple is releaseing something totally mindblowing, apart from the new iPhone.

It could be something as easy as Open Source/developer love by opening up App Store. June is always the best month of the year for gadget freeks, this year its gonna be special.

“If Google didn’t act, we face a draconian future. One man, one company, one device would control our future,” Vic Gundotra, vice president of engineering of Google, kick started the Day 2 Keynote at Google IO conference with those precious words. Continuing further he said “If you believe in openness and choice, welcome to Android.”

Google has already announced some great features for its next Android OS 2.2 Froyo, a giant step ahead of eclair.

We compared the latest iPhone OS 4.0 vs. Android 2.2 Froyo back-to-back and without a doubt, Android is leading. With a great move from Google, All eyes are on Apple’s upcoming WWDC 2010 (June 7th). Apple has already announced that CEO Steve Jobs will be delivering the Keynote in San Francisco.

Every one is questioning, and one Apple Fan couldn’t hold it back and mailed Steve Jobs asking “I hope you have some good WWDC announcements to blow [Google] out of the water” .

Steve Jobs, continuing his trend of doing one-to-one e-mail marketing for his $43 billion (revenue) company, replied gracefully, “You won’t be disappointed,” the CEO responded, as per MacRumors.

Every one acknowledges, Gizmodo may have spoiled the surprise this year by leaking the iPhone HD /4g prototype. However, over an email exchange with a customer, Jobs said the Event would still pack a punch.

Apart from the new iPhone Hardware, Apple is expected to reveal full details on its nextgen Os iPhone OS 4.0 which was previewed back in march with support for multitasking and 100s of other features.

Apple vs. Google Heat is sky high, and there doesn’t seem to be any chance that it would be coming down. Will Apple regain the lead in the innovation of smartphone market? If Steve says so, we believe it. After all, Apple developed the device that was lonely at the top for 3 long years, its time for them to regain the position.

It would be interesting to watch it live, hold back as we make Live video stream links available on the day: WWDC 2009 June 7th, stay tuned.

Apple has totally lost control over their Next iPhone’s Prototypes. Last month Gizmodo got Handson with iPhone 4G/HD prototype. Losing the control further, iPhone HD has made its appearance on a Vietnamese site taoviet.vn with Photos, Video and the worst for Apple the teardown.

There are a few differences between the Gizmodo’s iPhone 4G and this one.

The latest leaked iPhone 4G /HD prototype has been turned ON, sporting an image of an explosion and the sign “Inferno” on the screen.

Update: One of the sources claims that prototype in hands of Vietnamese guys is an older prototype than the one Gizmodo had found because it has the markings “N90 PRO2″ which indicates N90 (the Apple codename for the iPhone 4G) which refers to “Working Prototype 2″.

This prototype has no screws at the bottom which means it’s more finished than the one we saw earlier.

The back of this prototype says that this is a 16GB model. The previous leak had “XXGB”.

Processor: Apple A4 microprocessor: 1Ghz ARM Cortex, similar to the one found in the iPad.

Camera: 5 MP stills, 720p Video recording with rear camera, and VGA front facing camera.

Processor: Apple A4 1Ghz

Screen: Near DVD resolution screen: 960×460, new coating which reduces gripes.

Battery: 1400mAh, way higher than 1219 of iPhone 3GS.

Cellular: GSM/ CDMA (by the end of the year) 3G tri-band upto 7.2mbps, 4G LTE by end of the year.

Wireless: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n

Verdict

This looks like a polished, finished device. Without a doubt, the device apple will reveal on WWDC 2010 in June would be 99% similar.

It’s two months to June, when next iPhone will be released, and rumors are shaping up.

Few days back engadget found a iPhone 4G/HD prototype which was lost from one of the labs where next gen iPhone was being tested. John Gruber—from Daring Fireball—says that Apple has indeed lost a prototype iPhone and they want it back.

Few claimed that it was a fake Chinese/Japanese clone of the iPhone. But soon after it was declared fake, Giz found out that few signs that made them believe that the prototype is genuine. The characteristics like getting identified in iTunes, Xcode, and System Profiler, as “iPhone” but with different product identifiers than the 3G or 3GS.

On the inside, it’s packed with Apple-labeled components. But till now, they haven’t been able to get it to boot out of recovery mode, but a number of new features and changes are evident just by holding it.

What’s new

Front-facing video chat camera

Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS) with flash

Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like iPad, but why?)

Improved display: It’s unclear if it’s the 960×460 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the “Connect to iTunes” screen displaying much higher resolution than on a iPhone 3GS, but slightly smaller in size.

Secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack

Power, mute, and volume,Split buttons for volume are all metallic

New thinner, flatter Body: The back is entirely flat, made of ceramic or shiny plastic in order for the cell signal to poke through. Apart from that an aluminum border going completely around the outside

Weight: 3 grams heavier

Battery: 16% Larger battery (size wise), much higher power capacity

Miniaturization: All Internals components are shrunk, miniaturized to make room for the larger battery.

Even though this might look 80% as the finished product, Apple might consider changing Form factor and end product might look a bit different.

Gizmodo is pretty confident that this is the actual iPhone we would see in June. They calim that it was running iPhone OS 4.0 even before it was released officially, but apple killed it remotely.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple is currently “developing a new iPhone to debut this summer,” and also “working on another model for US mobile phone operator Verizon Wireless.”

As June approaches, it makes alot more sense for Cupertino company to unveil the iPhone HD. After the release of Android 4G (HTC EVO), it’s quiet possible that we would see and 4g version on iPhone later this year, if not in june, on Verizon.

The next iPhone is being manufactured by Taiwanese contract manufacturer Hon Hai Precision Industry. It’s also stated that the world’s first CDMA iPhone will be manufactured by Pegatron Technology. If all goes well, Pegatron could begin mass production of the CDMA iPhone (exact model not disclosed) this September, and this could be powered by Verizon’s LTE, that has been undergoing testing for a while.
Apple has seen enough pain with AT&T complaints, its time for them to get a “quality” mobile operator. It’s highly probable that within 2010 the AT&T exclusivity of iPhone would drop and we would see home long asked demands met with Verizon.

iPhone HD Specs?

The Current Android market has started to beat iPhone on the hardware specs. A High resolution screen, front facing camera, HD video recording, 4G connectivity is minimum Apple has to incorporate to have their edge on the market.

John Gruber, the polite guy who is mostly right with Apple predictions, expects to see A4-class SoC (just like iPad), a 960 x 640 display, a front-facing camera, and that iPhone OS 4.0 will enable third-party multitasking.

It was a month back when Steve Jobs said ” Google wants to kill iPhone, and we won’t let them”. Smells like something is coming and it’s BIG.

When is iPhone HD Coming?
The rumors and experience from the past intersect on June 22nd (tuesday). The first launch is signalled to be iPhone HD, a model with higher resolution screen, camera, multitasking, then later in the year comes 4G/LTE version which would appear on Verizon.

Rumors look better than before, but only time will show us the hits and the misses.

The time has finally arrived when Apple would put a finger on evey critic’s lips who was shouting about absence of Multitasking. As AppleInsider reports, this would finally enable users and app developers to run iPhone applicaitions in the background there by making true multitasking a reality.

Apple had been working to make this possible by leveraging the same technoogies that power their snow leopard desktops ofcourse in a trimmed down optimized way. Its pretty much in works at this moment but is not a distant dream. Today’s iPhone 3.x software has the capacity to run multiple apps (and Jailbroken devices do that) and this is almost fully-compliant for the iPhone 3GS since it has more room for RAM, battery juice. But on older devices like iPhone 3g, 2g, its a challenge Apple will fight over the coming months. The restrictions are artificially imposed to run one app at a time too save battery. Apple beleives in perfection, and it wont be official till the time Steve Jobs feels it is worth.

Restrictive Multitasking is already supported
Already, most common apps like Mail, SMS, Phone, Recorder, iPod, (and a large no. of unix services) run int he background without a glitch. However, 3rd party titles from App Store can’t.
One reason is security: To prevent running a malicious activity in background.

The Challenges and Solutions to Multitasking on iPhone 4.0
The iPhone OS is intended to create mobile devices that are easy to use, not just small versions of the complex PC model of the 1990s. Apple hates the idea of having let a user fiddle around TaskManager to optimize battery, which they believe adds complexity to the User Interface.
One way Apple could tackle is the popular Navigation of Mac OS X: Dock.

Even when Dock is introduced, Apple will need to set a policy on what kind of apps can support multitasking. e.g. Hodling a heavy Graphics Game in the background is no fun. It would drain the battery like crazy.

And the second challenge would be to introduce something that Android already has: Allow special trimmed down behavior when app goes to the background. The last part could be expanding the hardware capabilities, which of course means a newer gadget, iPhone 4g.

There had been lots of rumors on iPhone 4G and Apple Tablet aka iSlate. Luckily, new patents reveal that adds fuel to the craze of what apple had been innovating under the hood.

The US Patent and TM Office published a patent application from Apple’s work on multi-touch screen technology that will power it’s next generation devices.

The patent has more to do with displays with capacitive elements of the pixels — the system that generates an image on the display also form part of a touch sensing system that senses touch events on or near the display.

The patent focuses on displays including pixels with dual-function capacitive elements that translate into fewer moving parts and/or processor steps that could deliver thinner, brighter displays.

Without going much in detail, here’s alist of things this patent claims:

Dual-Function Capacitive Elements: “Touch screen having regions of pixels with dual-function capacitive elements that operate as LCD elements and as touch sensors according to embodiments of the invention”. Till date most devices use separate screen/surfaces — One for display and one for Touch. This patent makes it possible to do it via one surface, efficiently.

Touch Screen with Metal Traces for Key Devices: Metal traces running in the border areas of the touch screen according to embodiments of the invention. The new touch screen technology that includes pixels with dual-function capacitive elements is idle for Apple’s iPhone, Apple’s MacBook trackpad and display.

In-Plane Switching LCD using Low Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon: IPS or in-plane switching LCD display using (LTPS) low temperature polycrystalline silicon according to embodiments of the invention.

In-plane switching was developed by Hitachi Ltd. in 1996 to improve on the poor viewing angle and the poor colour reproduction of TN panels at that time. The magic comes into play when you add LTPS. LTPS provides more than a 100 times faster TFT mobility than the amorphous silicon technology.

AppleInsider noticed that Moscone West is mysteriously booked from June 28 to July 2 by “Corporate Event,” which is nothing but WWDC event for the year.

update: Latest WWDC 2010 Rumors, Expectations

iPhone’s birth June 29th, 2007 followed by the iPhone 3G at WWDC 2008 and the iPhone 3GS at WWDC 2009, everything happened in June. So what are we waiting for iPhone 4G?

Let’s get down to some Rumors that can make their way to this year’s WWDC:

1. iPhone 4G: It was expected a year ago but appeared as an upgrade to 3G, better known as iPhone 3GS. The first confirmed sources of iPhone 4G were from Foxconn, when an Employee died after he lost a prototype. From what we hear, this year’s iPhone will be a generation ahead, a true 4G (with support for LTE). We already know Verizon had been Testing 4G LTE . We heard of iPhone coming to Verizon, hence 4G/LTE in iPhone makes more sense.

Hardware-wise, a little is known: A better processor clocking around 1GHz (may not be a dual-core yet). Last time we heard of New job opening from Apple for Gaming, we knew it’s iPhone 4G. Gaming will be one key point in nextGen, they will chose a different and a more powerful graphics/processor chipset than Qualcomm’s snapdragon. What’s more is the 5 MegaPixel camera with HD video recording (iPhone 3GS was already capable of HD) plus a front camera for Video chat. On the storage side, new flash getting smaller, cheaper; double the capacity is obvious – iPhones will upto 64GB.

2. iPhone 4.0 Firmware: It’s known that iPhone 4.0 is coming sometime in 2010. Generation ahead, new Firmware, new SDK would provide minimal upgrades for older iPhones but would bring a generation gap by introducing Multitasking and more modular OS capable of next-gen collaboration.

3. Apple Tablet/ iTablet: What has caused more News than Apple’s Tablet? This was the mot awaited gadget of 2009 that could finally make it’s way in mid-2010. More rumors: All Tablet Archive.

Update: Apple Hints “New 7-inch mobile device to developers, Tablet confirmed!”

4. New MacBooks /iMac:

Like every other WWDC, newer lighter, greener, faster MacBooks and iMac will lineup. The possible upgrades includes Intel’s 32nm Nehalem upgrades that will show up first in CES 2010. Graphics are also supposed to get significant upgrades with higher VRAM, and clocks. There’s one mystery patent done by Apple recently: 3D Hands-free computing, is that coming to Macs ? or perhaps a new device ?

5. iPod/ iTouch:

iTouch will get camera, and processor upgrade. Like iPhone, iTouch and iPod storage will see double values too.

More to come, stay tuned!

As per the latest job posting at Apple’s job portal, they are looking for a Hardcore Game developer on the mobile platform.

The Job description doesn’t say “games” specifically, focusing instead on “interactive multimedia experiences.” However, the ad is looking for someone with “3-4 years of video game development experience,” someone who has “shipped at least one AAA title,” and someone who is a “passionate gamer.”

We all know iPhone is such a great platform for gaming, and it has already made dedicated devices like Nintendo DS, PSP look obsolete. And thanks to the phenomenal iPhone SDK partnership, iPhone today has Games from all the Big players.

In such a scenario, where 1000s of games exist, why would Apple recruit Game developers? One of the possible reasons is that Apple wants to ship bundled games with iPhone’s next Firmware. But that doesn’t make sense nor do they need to advance current OpenGL support for iPhone 3GS. What else could it be? Profit making in Game business?

Developing Games won’t make sense for Apple, it’s not their profession.

Bundling Game would be like reducing the revenue, when compared with what they get from an equivalent app in App Store.

Plans for the NextGen?

Thinking of about all the possibilities, all this looks like is the deal for the next-generation iPhone. They need a Game develoepr who can test and certify the Gaming capabilities of the Next device.

iPhone 4G, possibly could ship with bundled games, but what looks more prevalent is that the next device is going to be more serious on Hardcore gaming. Today’s iPhone 3GS can blow out PSP at graphics. The 4G is already rumored to feature 1GHz+ or a Dual core processor with a more capable GPU that could find a low-end replacement for Desktop games (Games that match low-end PC performance).

iPhone 3GS was supposed to feature HDMI out and 720p video recording, Apple had intentionally disabled the device of doing so, even when hardware is known to perform well on it. Why? Of course to prolong battery life.

No doubt, all these things will be not just enabled but also amplified in 4G.

What do you think ? Does it look like something else to you ?

The death of Sun Danyong, the Foxconn worker who apparently committed suicide after an iPhone prototype went missing, has more secrets than what we knew.

One of the obvious things to follow was — As compensation, his family has been paid about $44,000, and his girlfriend received an Apple laptop.

What is that Macbook for? For reminding her of Sun all her life?

Let’s demystify more secrets about Foxconn story. Sun Danyong was given not just one, but 16 prototype iPhones on July 9 or 10 to deliver to R&D, and he reported one missing three days later. He committed suicide early in the morning on July 16, after allegedly suffering through brutal

interrogations, which showed how secret Apple’s products are.

Foxconn’s China GM James Lee told that Sun had a history of disappearing products: What?

“Several times he had some products missing, then he got them back,” and that they “don’t know who took the product, but it was at his stop.”

Was he a professional corporate thief or potentially a careless guy ?

Since James claimed that he usually used to get them back in 3 days, it looks as if he used to sell out the secrets outside of the company possibly to competitors. Looks like a deal he used to play t earn some serious cash. But this time something BIG went wrong. May be he was not able to bring it back, may the competitor company damaged it while studying the prototype. There are endless things that can be thought about it.

But strange thing so far is, investigation hasn’t yet disclosed any of these facts.

Sun had to deal with strange things before he committed suicide: Not long after Sun’s father finished telling journalists Foxconn treated the family well, a security guard with two men in Foxconn shirts appeared and threatened to beat up a journalist’s translator if they kept asking the family questions. Foxconn swears the guard didn’t wasn’t one of their guys.

It’s still hard for the company to blame Sun exclusively, we don’t know how far was Sun was responsible. Was this “Usual” behavior of his, a more serious conspiracy and confidential-leak for Foxconn?

What do you think?

iPhone 3rd generation is just out and people are already setting expectations for the fourth generation coming out next year. As per sources, it’s been designed in certain Taiwanese company’s labs.

Apple has long surprised us with their exciting new features. But last week, it was something negative. Sun Danyong, a fresh grad at Taiwenese firm, committed suicide after a fourth-generation iPhone prototype he was responsible for went missing. It’s a proof of how Apple’s secretive ways send extreme pressure all the way down the company’s international supply chain.

Danyong had landed a job handling product communications for electronics manufacturing giantFoxconn. He was assigned the task of shipping iPhone prototypes from Foxconn to Apple. The sequence of events goes as follows, based on news reports currently coming out of China, including a major local paper, Southern Metropolis Daily. The news has yet to be reported in the English-language press, at least that I’ve seen, although it’s all over the Chinese-language Twitter space.

On Thursday, July 9th, Sun got 16 prototype phones from the assembly line at a local Foxconn factory. At some point in the next few days, he discovered that one of the phones was missing. He suspected that it had been left at the factory, but couldn’t find it. On Monday, he reported the missing phone to his boss. Then, that Wednesday, three Foxconn employees searched his apartment — illegally, according to Chinese law. Accusations are flying that Sun was detained and physically abused during the investigation, although this has not been substantiated (possible evidence: there’s this somewhat garbled and potentially faked instant message exchange from Sun shortly before his death).

What is known: On Thursday — a little after 3 a.m. according to surveillance videos in the apartment building — he jumped out of a window in his apartment building to his death leading to a coward suicide.

All the time, there are 1000s of blogs hungry to publish the latest rumor/fact about any Apple product — the company has many ravenous consumer fans and investors, because let’s face it, the products are great. Beyond the products, though, the company uses the element of surprise to help build up excitement for its flashy product launches, helping to drive sales and its stock price higher. In order to make that happen, Apple exerts immense pressure on its business partners help it maintain secrecy. The missing phone, some sort of new iPhone, has so far been nothing more than speculation among gadget sites for iPhone 4g.

Taiwan-based Foxconn makes Apple’s iPhones and iPods, along with numerous other hardware devices for other international technology companies. It faces cutthroat competition from other manufacturers around China and the world. A leak of the next generation of Apple’s crown jewel, the iPhone, could badly hurt Foxconn’s business relationship with Apple. The pressure within Foxconn to maintain Apple’s secrets, then, is not surprising.

Few facts of information that has popped out on blogs: People like Sun are pretty helpless when things go wrong in Apple’s supply chain. Here’s how Steven Lin, a Chinese blogger and marketer, put it:

Students [like Sun] have been studying in schools for years, and they have been carefully protected by their parents. They can’t endure such pressure – ‘their house being illegally searched,’ or ‘house arrests’. Employees at these and other factories sometimes kill themselves simply because of the pressure from their daily jobs — you know what’s going to happen when they face more serious threats. Also, most young Chinese guys don’t have friends who are lawyers, so they don’t know how to protect themselves in the legal system. They won’t even look for help from the legal system. They will just endure the pressure, and finally find an extreme way to end all their troubles.

Is the Apple’s flashy surprises worth taking few lifes? I don’t think so.

What is the good thing about Apple?

They keep their customers happy with rumors and surprises. It’s thie starategic plan to keep innovating and increasing the passion of the Geeks. There are a ton of last minute rumors that have surfaced, and it is only appropriate we round them all up and present them to you for your reading pleasure.

WWDC 2009 is coming with barely 3 more days to go and day by day, we get more reliable and more sense proofs for the Rumours we have heard so far. I`ve tried to capture all which are based on Solid proofs. the one’s having 70% and aboce probability is highly likely to be there.

Don’t forget to check-back this post after WWDC June 8th, Taranfx should give you good accuracy in the predictions.

Faster processor (More MHz) and possibly more RAM

Probability: 97%

Any hardware upgrade typically should receive a performance boost. Reliable sources tell that the next iPhone will have a 600MHz processor (from 400MHz). That would make the next iPhone 50% as fast as the current one. Also, a recent job listing reveals (wired) that Apple is hiring a hardware level iPhone programmer who is familiar with the ARMv7 Cortex mobile processor, which is much faster than the current iPhone’s ARMv6-based chip. As for memory, we’d expect Apple to increase RAM to complement the processor upgrade.

More Storage: 16GB and 32GB

Probability: 96%

The current iPhones come in two models: 8GB and 16GB. Upping the storage to 16GB and 32GB is a small, incremental upgrade, which would allow Apple to maintain the price points for the handset.

Magnetometer (digital compass)

Probability: 93%

A large amount of evidence indicates that the next iPhone will feature a magnetometer, a 3-axis compass that will greatly enhance its global positioning capabilities. Developers testing the iPhone 3.0 beta have found system files and screenshots referring to a magnetometer, which suggests the hardware feature will appear in the next iPhone.

3.2-megapixel camera or better with auto-focus lens

Probability: 91%

UI screens discovered in the iPhone 3.0 beta suggest the next iPhone will have auto-focus. The current iPhone sports a 2-megapixel camera, and analysts say the next iPhone’s resolution must be at least 3.2 megapixels in order for the smartphone to remain competitive. but we could expect low probability for 5.0 MP.

Same design as previous models with minor upgrades

Probability: 90%

All the probable rumors suggest this will be an incremental upgrade, so we would not expect Apple to change much in the industrial design. That would mean the screen resolution should remain the same. Also, Apple would hesitate to change much about the overall form factor, as it would require iPhone application developers to dramatically change their apps just for the new phone. But we should expect a change in the rear of iPhone which used to be a glazed plastic being replaced with Matt-finished rubber synthetic.

Video-recording support and editing capabilities

Probability: 70%

Some geeks have published screen captures of a video interface discovered in iPhone 3.0 beta. A major complaint about the current iPhone is its inability to record video, so it would be surprising if Apple didn’t deliver this feature. We would give this rumor a higher rating if there were evidence of video-editing capabilities. Currently, we haven’t seen any.

Illuminant Apple logo on the rear

Probability: 68%

Unnecessary. Rumor comes from an obscure blog with little cred.

1.3 times the battery life of the current models

Probability: 50%

A major complaint about the iPhone 3G is its meager battery life. Therefore, Apple will most likely claim the next iPhone has improved battery life. We’ll have to test the next iPhone’s battery life to see if Apple’s claims are true.

OLED screen

Probability: 20%

An obscure iPhone blog reported a rumor that the next iPhone will feature an OLED screen. However, this is unlikely as OLEDs are expensive and would likely drive the iPhone’s price points higher. Evidence of this feature is scant.

4G communications (Wi-Max)

Probability:17% There are no proofs for this yet, but its likely possible. First was 2.5G, 2nd was 3G, now 4G makes sense.

Built-in FM receiver

Probability: 12%

There doesn’t seem t be much evidence for this, but I would still like to expect, you never know

Feel free to add your predictions
