WhatsApp is the number one Instant messaging platform on smartphones whether its Android, iOS or blackberry, its the world leader.
WhatsApp revealed that they had reached 1.3billion messages being exchanged in every single day. At this amount, it is growing rapidly and leaving Blackberry’s BBM in dust.
WhatsApp on Android had long been running the old boring UI that shows no love for Android UI guidelines. It was designed for Pre-ICS devices and UI is pretty-much the same today. The next version of WhatsApp v2.9.2239 (v3.0) shows love for Holo UI and is available as public beta.
With the New WhatsApp Holo UI, it finally adopts the ICS+ ActionBar with nicer UI controls and overflow menu. The list items and messages are now displayed in a cleaner and better designed bubbles. The Whole UI looks sharp and impressive.
Other than UI improvements, it also feels faster overall.
