WePad: Android Based Tablet – iPad Killer?

You can bring almost any consumer’s attention by claiming that you’ve built a Tablet. And that’s exactly what Electronics vendors are doing: Creating all the hype and the user experience is pathetic.  They don’t understand One simple, yet, most important thing — a Tablet with Desktop OS just won’t do.

Because Tablet is a touch sensitive device, your desktop OS will not have any of those gesture in applications, no matter how nicely you add touch features to your OS. Microsoft tried exact same thing in Windows 7, needless to say HP Slate looks ugly.

With the announcement and large scale Pre-oders of Apple iPad, the Tablet word is much more powerful than ever before. In the pas we’ve shown an Open Source Tablet that kills iPad. Today, Neofonie is introducing the WePad, a German-made unit that promises “Android based device with fast Internet connectivity, a complete world of ready-to-use applications and easy access to books and photos, as well as magazines and newspapers from various publishers via the WeMagazine ePublishing Eco System.”

Hardware: The specs are quiet good:

Atleast from all the specs mentioned above, this device looks alot more promising than iPad with a Robust Hardware, software support. At this moment there is no word on pricing and availability, but we would keep you posted.

Though Apple iPad has 100s of missing features, it would still succeed, but WePad will give users everything they would miss on iPad.
