Enable Voice Control on iPhone 2G 3G

When Apple launched Voice Control for iPhone 3GS, it left lots of previous generation owners thirsty. The reason being feature enables users to make phone calls and play music by using voice commands.

Did you the rising demand, we developers played around to get a hacked app  that is a look-alike app for iPhone 2G and iPhone 3G which works and looks almost exactly as it is on iPhone 3GS.

You will need to have an unlocked and jailbroken iPhone for this to work. Pre-requisites:

Download WinSCP for Windows
Download CyberDuck for Mac
Download VoiceControl (zip) for iPhone 2G and 3G


Step 1: Install OpenSSH via Cydia if you haven’t already

Step 1: Open WinSCP or Cyberduck  and enter the following details to login to your phone:


Step 3: Unzip VoiceControl.zip and copy it to your iPhone in the /<root>/Applications directory.

Right-click on directory Voice Control.app >> Properties and change the permission to 755 while keeping “Set group, owner and permissions recursively” option selected

You are done! After the restart, you should now have a new app named “Voice Control” on your springboard. Start this new application on your iPhone 3G or 2G and simply search through your contacts, music and bookmarks by using voice commands just like iPhone 3GS!
