FlashTime, the name is an obvious response from adobe to Apple’s iPhone 4 FaceTime, is built using an upcoming release of the cross-platform Adobe AIR 2.5 (Adobe Integrated Runtime) which is releasing soon on Android Platform.
Adobe gave a teaser using Nexus One and is said to be “at feature parity with the desktop Flash Platform” by offering support for device cameras and microphones, enabling developers to create video-conferencing applications that work everywhere: Phones(android), Android Tablets, Windows, Linux, Mac – Write once use anywhere.
FlasTime essentially uses Adobe’s own Stratus servers to create user-to-user video call between two Android devices.
We already know how to Install Flash on the iPad, even though Apple hates it. Soon, we should see AIR being ported as well, its just a matter of time.
