Sprint has just announced the First Android based 4G phone: HTC EVO 4G.
The Phone has lots of features that make it far better than Nexus One:
- Display: 4.3″ 480 x 800 4.3-inch TFT LCD
- CPU: Snapdragon QSD8650 1GHz processor (Same as nexus One)
- Storage: 1GB of built-in memory, 8GB microSD card
- RAM: 512MB
- Battery is better than the HTC HD2, 1500mAh
- Camera: 8 megapixel with flash, and 720p HD video, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera for video conferencing.
- Connectivity: 802.11b/g WiFi, A-GPS, 3.5mm Audio jack
Like HTC Desire, It features the nitty-gritty HTC Sense UI over the Android 2.1.
The handset runs a combo of EV-DO Rev. A and WiMAX, with calls still being made over CDMA and the EV-DO / WiMAX options for data. Interestingly, it sounds like concurrent data and voice use might be possible for the first time on CDMA carrier in this way.
Other attraction is the Sprint’s hotspot app which gives you MiFi Tethering connection sharing out of the box.
The phone is definitely most high-end Android device we’ve ever seen. Availability from this summer.
