Install Official Android 2.3.6 Value Pack on Galaxy S i9000

Samsung is not delivering the Ice Cream Sandwich to Samsung Galaxy S and its equivalents due to some hardware limitations. But to compensate, Samsung does want to deliver a Value Pack to its Galaxy S / captivate customers, worldwide.

SamMobile has leaked the ROM update, before its even officially announced.

How To Install Android 2.3.6 TouchWizUi Value Pack on i9000 Galaxy S

Note: This is a leaked ROM, it has not been properly tested. Do it at your own risk.

Downloads:

Step 1. Extract the ROM from the rar file. Open ODIN (close KIES if open)

Step 2. Turn off your Galaxy S i9000. Hold Volume Down + Home + Power buttons to enter the Download Mode.

Step 3. Attach usb cable from Galaxy S with your PC, ODIN should recognize it in matter of seconds.

Step 4. In ODIN, click on PDA and select the CODE_I9000XXJVU_CL851880_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5 file (present in the extracted folder), then click on PHONE and select MODEM_I9000XXJVU_REV_00_CL1092175.tar.md5. And the last time, click on CSC and select GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVU.tar.md5.

Step 5. You are now ready to flash your device. Click on Start, your Samsung Galaxy S will reboot into a leaked, official build XXJVU of Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread “Value Pack”.
