Sn0wBreeze v1.7 lets users create a custom iOS 4 to jailbreak all iDevices.
Note: In order for this to work effectively, iPod 3 must be on OS 3.1.2 or you must have saved SHSH blobs of OS 3.1.2 for your iPod Touch 3G.
Sn0wBreeze Device Compatibility List
- iPod Touch 3G iOS4 (if & only if) they are running firmware 3.1.2 or you’ve SHSH blobs for 3.1.2 (needed for downgrade)
- iPod Touch 2G iOS4 (non-MC) and 1G
- iPhone 3GS iOS4 (Old BootRom + support for Spirit Jailbroken devices)
- iPhone 3G iOS4
- iPhone 2G 3.1.3
Sn0wBreeze supports all the devices above mentioned devices and can create custom firmware 4 for them (except iPhone 2g which doesn’t support iOS4).

How to Jailbreak iPhone 3g, 3gs, iPod Touch 3G on iOS4
Jailbreak iPhone 3g, 3gs, iPod touch on iOS4
Step 1. Launch Sn0wbreeze as administrator and connect your iPhone via USB.
Step 2. Click on next arrow and choose your preferred mode:
- Simple Mode – Step by step instructions (as below) and automatically detects your correct firmware and adds the unlock and activation and jailbreak with Cydia automatically to your custom firmware.
- Expert Mode – You have the power to adjust the settings on the various different additions to the custom firmware – if you click through and do not change anything in expert mode it will make the same.
Step 3. Lets select firmware. click “Browse” and locate it.
Step 4. Lets go through steps ne by one. Click “General” and advanced. At this point, if you chose to Jailbreak iPhone, the sn0w asks us if you wish to activate your iPhone.
If you are using an Official service provider (i.e. AT&T or any other for worldwide users) you do not need to Unlock Baseband, select NO. If You are using an Unofficial service provider then Select YES
Step 5. Next you chose to install Cydia or Rock or both. Cydia is enough.
Step 6. It ‘s time to choose the packages to be included in your firmware. We can choose between:
- Repository pre-added
- Add. Deb that you have on your computer.
We are almost done and ready to “Build IPSW”. Just sit back and relax while custom ipsw is built.
Step 7. Now put your phone in DFU/Recovery mode
iPhone in recovery mode :
- Turn the device completely off and disconnect it from cable/dock.
- Hold down the home button.
- While holding down the home button connect to a computer with a cable (easiest) or dock.
- Keep holding down the home button until you see a connect-to-iTunes screen You are now in recovery mode.
Step 9. Fire iTunes and hold Shift click on “Restore” button in iTunes and Browse the firmware you just created in step 6. Chill out as you wait. Now you have jailbroken iPhone/ iPod touch on iOS4. ext we will unlock it.
