The Nexus 7 got Rooting treatment way before the launch. But now the first Once Click Root has arrived, allowing just about anyone to Root their device.
The Nexus 7 is now available on Google Play for $199 for 8gb, while the 16GB model will cost $249. Its awesome device for the price.
Note: If your bootloader is locked, One Click Root will remove all your data. This is required, you might want to take backups.
How to Root (One Click) Nexus 7 Tablet
Download the One Click root tool.
Step 1. Go to settings > Developer options > Enable USB debugging.
Step 2. Extract and Run root.exe from the compressed archive.
Step 3. Follow the on screen instructions as they guide you for the rest of the process.
Step 4. When done, reboot the device, and you should now have ClockworkMod recovery installed, and full root access on your Nexus 7.
