Though, there are several apps in the App Store that let you tickle around the iPad with some great drawing apps, none of them promise you near Real-drawing experience as iPad lacks pressure sensitivity. The iPad’s IPS panel is NOT pressure-sensitive that’s why you would not get that experience, but with some clever software and a special capacitive stylus, the folks at Ten One Design built a convincing proof of concept that works in practice.
Stylus producer Ten One Design – best known for their Pogo stylus, that works with the capacitive touchscreens used on the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad – has demonstrated an app which would allow iOS based devices to respond to pen pressure. Like on a professional graphics tablet, that would allow iPad artists to adjust line-thickness depending on how hard they pressed.
How Pressure-sensitive drawing works: The idea is simple, when the stylus is pressed down, the soft tip of the stylus expands like a brush, generating a “larger press” that can be detected by the algorithms written in the app. They also have plans to make this library open source for people to re-use and innovate on it.
