Set LiveWallpaper, Scrolling Wallpaper on iPhone

iOS users have always been jealous of the customizability of Android platform. Why shouldn’t they be, Android users get to set Live wallpapers, scrolling backgrounds, custom launchers, and custom OS too.

Well, you can now get Android’s LiveWallpaper and Scrolling desktop background wallpapers on iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad using a Jailbreak tweak called LiveWallpaper.

LiveWallpaper app isn’t the first on iOS to support this. We’ve seen apps like GoDesk & LivePapers. But there are multiple reasons why those apps are just not optimal for everyone. On the contrary, Live Wallpaper app makes it easy and straightforward.

LiveWallpaper app lets you do two things:

  1. SetScrolling wallpaper (parallax). You can set a widescreen image as the wallpaper, and it will scroll along with your SpringBoard pages. You can choose from inbuilt wallpapers or pick from gallery and crop as per need.
  2. Set Live Wallpapers (animated). For this you would need to download each Live wallpaper separately from Cydia store.

At the time of writing, there is only one Live wallpaper, but more are coming soon.

By default, this tweak sets a scrolling wallpaper on your iPhone’s Home screen when you install it from Cydia. Lesser number of pages you’ve, the better the scrolling effect.

The LiveWallpaper customization is available for free in BigBoss Cydia repo. Download
