Apple has just announced that the App Store downloads are now reaching 10 Billion downloads, since its launch, 2 years back.
Currently, the App Store has more than 300,000 apps.
It’s a huge milestone in the life of the App Store, which lets people downloads games and software programs for their iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads.
Around 2 thousand apps were being downloaded every second, as per the counter for last few minutes.
Apple inc launched the 10 billionth app downloader promo to celebrate the success of their iTunes app store, as well as their new gold rush app portal for OSX computers, the Mac App Store. Apple says it will soon announce who downloaded the 10 billionth app (or submits a free entry form at the right time) – he or she will win a US $10,000 iTunes Gift Card.
