We’ve published several guides on Rooting various Android devices: Motorola Droid, Nexus One, but like iPhone, the Rooting now becomes easy across all the Android devices, credits to Neil and Theresa for their project at androidlib.
Instant Root offloads all the effort and rooting is just single-click away.
Here’s how to Root Android, quickly:
- Install & Run the APK file.
- On receiving confirmation message, Restart your phone and that’s it.
So why is it so simple? This Android package basically exploits Android kernel to gain root access. However, it does not install custom firmware. Future Android updates may remove root access and stop this app working. Consider flashing custom firmware, e.g. Cyanogen, to prevent this.
Works on All Android Devices: G1, all HTC phones (including Nexus One), Motorola Droid (not tested)
Disclaimer: Rooting your phone can cause some serious changes, just like jailbreaking on iPhone. If don’t know what you are doing, don’t do it.
