iTunes is the default weapon of choice if you own iPhone or iPod Touch or iPod. However, iTunes restricts you from getting Music, Videos, Voice Memos and Photos off your gadget to your Computer (Windows or Mac OS X).
Here is a quick Tutorial to do it in minutes:
Step 1. Authorize your iTunes on computer, if not already. Store > Authorize Computer and in device properties (e.g. iPhone) Disable “Auto sync”.
Step 2. Check mark “Manually manage Music”. Do NOT Hit OK when it asks to ERASE all data.
Step 3. File > Transfer Purchases from “your device”.
Step 4. For Windows: Download SharePod and unrar the .exe
On Mac OS X download Pod to Mac and unzip
Step 5. Run SharePod/PodToMac and close iTunes.
Step 6. There you go, you see all iPod/ iPhone contents (Music, Videos, Voice Memos and Photos). Select the media you want to copy and Hit Copy or Drag-Drop, and you are done.
