The design appears to be quiet similar to the iPhone 4 with the upgrade in the screen size which grows by cutting down the Bezel.
No measurements for this cutout have been posted, but we’ve our bets on the fact that these are 4″ display, matching all the rumors we’ve seen so far.
Apple is said to be working on redesigned iPhone for debut in June-July 2011 with a four-inch display to match the current lineup of Android phones. Apple’s next generation iPhone would cost less the current generation and may also get integrated SIM for better locking to the service provider for the U.S. versions.
iPhone 5, just like iPad 2 will get A5 Multicore (dualcore) processor in addition to WWAN chip already found in the Verizon iPhone, designed to work on both CDMA and GSM networks.
Apple is not ready to increase the size of the iPhone to something bigger, so they won’t mind getting the extra inch but cutting-out bezel from right, left, top, and bottom to make the first edge-to-edge display mobile device. While we may not see increase in pixel density on the new 4″ devices, the density may actually be lesser as larger displays try to retain original resolution (pixels). The other rumors claim that display will maintain its dpi as the “Retina” with the new bottom portion of the screen a static control switch bar for iOS multitasking.
