Windows 8 Flavors for Surface, Laptops

Windows 8 would arrive in three major Flavors: Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, Windows RT. The major difference is between Windows 8 and RT.

Windows 8 is a full-featured Start Screen and desktop environments — and Windows RT, is a mobile environment that runs only Windows Store apps and built-in software. Basically a crippled OS to match iOS on iPad or Android.

The UI is very similar, in fact exactly the same on both of the OS versions/devices. Truth be told Windows RT is a tablet- and mobile-focused OS, while Windows 8 is a full-featured PC operating system.
