Google is stepping into yet another Apple’s space, with Music service called Google Audio. Over the recent months, google has invested alot in securing content for the launch of the service from the major music labels. This effort now seems to flourish as a brand new Audio service.
It’s certainly an interesting time for online music, with Napster, Spotify , others all making headlines in the last month. Will it be a freemium service such as Spotify?
Complete details are not out yet, so far what we know is that the new service will be available for at least U.S. users, which could be a download or streaming service, or both. Google already has a decent music search engine that can be accessed by simply typing “music:” before a query (example). But songs are not available for streaming or download from those searches.
Last year, google launched a music service for china. This is pretty different, being free for search and download supported by Ads.
