After the lot of buzz around the hackery of Android to get multitouch on Nexus One, Google finally decides to make those features Official.
Google announces that Nexus One users will now be able to receive an over-the-air (OTA) software update on all phones. the current update provides some great new features and bug fixes:
Pinch-to-zoom functionality (MultiTouch): devices will now include a new pinch-to-zoom mechanism in the phone’s Browser, Gallery and Maps applications.
Google Goggles: Available directly on device by launching it from your All Apps menu.(Google Goggles Visual Search)
Google Maps: Update to Google Maps 3.4, which will include:
- Starred (Favorite) items synchronized with maps.google.com
- Search suggestions from your personal maps.google.com history
- Night mode in Google Maps Navigation
3G Fixes: Finally, 3G issues are taken care of.
How to Upgrade
You will receive a message on your phone’s notification bar. Just download the update, wait for it to install, and you should be all set.
Note: This update is being rolled out gradually over the week. It might reach you anytime.
