Americans are set to purchase an impressive 16.8 million cars in total in 2020, NADA reveals. Whether it’s a brand new feature or retrofit upgrade, car technology has come a long way in recent years. New technology like Apple CarPlay, remote car starters, and relaxation systems are making cars safer and improving entertainment and convenience factors for both drivers and passengers. 

Apple CarPlay

Apple CarPlay makes it possible for drivers to safely use their smartphones on the road. By connecting your smartphone to your in-car entertainment system, you can take calls, send messages, and use apps like music and GPS entirely hands-free. While newer cars are typically compatible with Apple CarPlay, older cars need the right hardware to use it. A double-DIN head unit can be inserted into a specific 7-by-4 slot on the dashboard. Professional installation is recommended and costs anywhere from $200-600 in total. 

Viper 1-Way remote car starter

Remote car starters are a convenient way to start your car remotely, allowing the interior to warm up before you get inside. In particular, Viper’s 1-way remote car starter is a new remote starter and keyless entry system that works from up to 1,500 feet away. It also enables you to unlock and lock your car and open your trunk and windows. BMW’s caring car feature

The “vitalize” program turns the car’s ambient lighting green and adjusts the temperature to 64.4 degrees fahrenheit. Seat ventilation will also be put on maximum as energetic music plays via the audio system. Alternatively, the “relax” setting turns the ambient lighting a soothing bronze, fully heats the seats, and increases the temperature to 73.4 degrees fahrenheit. Calming music will also be played.
