Every year, millions die in a car accident, worldwide. We’ve little intelligence to reduce this number, and subsequent efforts have failed to reduce the agony. Google has jumped into the stream to find a solution last year, and This year at TED 2011, we see first public demos.
At the TED conference 2011, the folks from Search Engine Land got handson experience with the world’s first Truly driverless car that can drive without any assistance on any road. Their experience was one of its kind, the car drove itself around a pretty aggressive closed circuit.
Looks like Google is right on track with their research and with further development it can only get better. It looks like humans probably won’t have to deal with parking woes in the future – just get off and let the car park itself.
