Apple has launched its very new operating system for iPhones – the iOS 14 version!
On September 16, 2020, Apple Inc. launched its latest and most advanced iOS 14 – replacing the iOS 13. Though the company claims significant changes, including more advanced and better features than iOS 13 – is it worth updating your iOS? Whether you should download it or not depends on the features it offers. Unlike iOS 13, the latest iOS 14 version is much faster on iPhone 6S and later models.
Next-gen Siri improvements
Siri is now more advanced than ever. It sounds more natural, but you can also send audio messages via Siri. Furthermore, Apple has taken serious space-savings measures for the home screen. Now the incoming calls or Siri requests don’t cover all your screen. It has introduced a unique feature, ‘Picture in Picture’ mode that enables users to watch videos or facetime while using other applications simultaneously.
Better iOS14 Memoji options
Memoji option features that were first introduced in iOS 13 have more and better customization options now. Due to revamped facial and muscle structures, the memoji is more expressive! Users now have various headwear, hairstyles, face coverings as well as age options. The memoji hug, blush, and fist bump stickers are updated.
Keeping an eye on your Child’s Activity
This iOS provides much better parental control! It allows parents to connect their iOS 14 with watchOS7 – enabling them to manage their child’s apple watches, smartphones, and MacBooks.
Health, Sleep and Fitness on iOS14
The health app is updated as well. Users can easily keep track of their sleep cycle. They can also add their health information such as emergency SOS, Medical ID, Fall Detection, and ECG for better management and health safety issues.
iOS 14 Maps features
If you are a biker/cyclist, then you should upgrade to iOS 14. As this latest iOS has introduced a new ‘Cycling directions’ features in it’s Apple Maps. This feature has been designed very carefully to assist the bike commuters and cyclists. It accounts for the elevation levels, rush/crowd on streets, and whether there are stairs, underpass, or bridge on the route.
iOS14 Automation shortcuts and device switching
Another update involves the ‘automation suggestions’ in the Home app with quick Control Center access buttons. It also has an Adaptive Lighting feature – that allows users to adjust the color temperature during the day. The On-device Face Recognition feature ensures better security. It enables cameras and video doorbells to tell users the identity of the person at the door.
Finally, the digital car keys features allow you to unlock/start your car via your smartphone or smartwatch! With these features and all the other iOS 14 features, it is not wrong to say that this iOS version is so far one of the best additions in the iOS family!
