Tesla Model 3 review

Let’s have a look at what this model has to offer.

Design

To start off, let’s begin with the basics. This model offers excellent range, affordability, and performance. It is 20% smaller than the Tesla Model S and incorporates the technology from the Model S, while flaunting its unique design. The design of the stylish, minimalist interior cabin is quite successful at exuding a futuristic feel as soon as you step into the car.

This car seats 5 people. Thanks to the panoramic glass roof, the cabin of the car feels airy spacious, rather than feeling congested. The manufactures have paid special attention to driver’s comfort by including plenty of legroom and headspace, which helps make long-drives all the more comfortable. Though the rear seats are a bit small, they are still wide enough to fit two adults easily.

Furthermore, the model adds excellent handling to the equation with the help of a low center of gravity, powerful brakes, and sticky tires. This allows the car to change direction smoothly and feel stable and planted in corners.

Performance

As expected by Tesla’s electric car line, the model offers impressive speed. It has a top speed of 162 mph, and the performance spears from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. Along with effortlessly quick acceleration, the model also boasts a decent battery life, with the Standard Range Plus model allowing you to drive 250 miles on a single charge, up to 299 miles with the Performance model, and lastly a whooping 322 miles with the long-range model.

Interior Dashboard

The interior dashboard of the car includes a an easy to use 15-inch touch screen, navigation panel, Bluetooth connectivity, four USB ports, dual-zone automatic climate control. Other than this, the model also features a 14 speakers premium audio system, 2 amps, 1 subwoofer, an internet browser, premium connectivity for a year, and real-time traffic display.

There are not many cars that can compete with the quality of the touch screen that this model features. Not only does the touch screen feature a wide display, but the quality of the graphics is also outstandingly crisp. The interface is user-friendly and the response time of the screen is very fast.

The touch screen is responsible for controlling almost every other function of the car, this implies that the driver will need to look away from the road, at the touch screen, for every other command, such as using the windshield etc. Though this might be a concern for some drivers, the fast response time of the screen helps carry out these commands quickly.

Other than this, one of the things that has been viewed as a minor downside of the car is that it does not come with smartphone integration. Most of the recently launched models of cars feature Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, or both.

Safety

There are a couple of safety features included in this car which include blind-spot monitoring, side collision warning, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, sensors on all sides and, a rearview camera. Moreover, it also comes with a thick curtain airbag and a uniquely shaped front passenger airbag.

Moreover, the model performed outstandingly when tested by Euro NCAP’s passive safety tests. It scored 94% in correcting inattentive driving and in the Safety Assist category for halting automatically for pedestrians and cyclists. Overall, it has received excellent safety ratings by several car safety organizations including IIHS, which guarantees that there’s not much to worry about if you own the Telsa model 3.

Battery Life

One of the biggest concerns of buyers while purchasing an electric car is the battery life. However, Tesla model 3 does not compromise in this department at all. According to Musk the battery life of model 3 should last for about 300,000 to 500,000 miles, which equals to 1500 cycles.

Another great thing about the model is that the battery design allows you to replace modules rather than replacing the whole battery. This helps electric car owners save money. According to musk, the module replacement is supposed to cost you around $5,000 to $7,000.

There’s no doubt that this model has been built to offer longevity. The model comes with a 20-foot charging cord that can be connected to a 120-volt outlet. A complete charging cycle at home takes five hours to four days. The time your battery takes to fully charge basically depends on the car’s charge level.

Verdict: Is the Tesla Model 3 worth the hype?

Overall, Tesla model 3 is a great car.  It has been designed to deliver a smooth ride, quick acceleration and, a long battery life; all at a great price. It is a highly-recommended car, along with being the most usable electric car available in the market these days.

Though there are a few minor downsides, they are almost non-existent when compared with the positive aspects that this model has to offer. All in all, this car has garnered more attention as compared to any other car in history, and it won’t be wrong to say that it is truly worth the hype.
