With the scheduled announcement of launch of Samsung Galaxy Note 9 slated for August 9, 2018, we have been receiving news regarding specs and features of the phablet phone.
As Samsung smartphones constitute the highest of high profile phones in the market, it is imperative that Samsung would be finding it hard to keep information about their next Big launch under the wraps.
Hardware Specifications (expected) : The Galaxy S and Note series have always pushed the envelope when it comes to Camera specs. While the Note 8 had its issues with batteries but users never complained on the Camera front. And this time too, if the rumors are to be believed, the Camera isn’t going to leave them asking for more.
The much awaited and applauded ISOCELL Plus technology from Samsung’s stable should be able to break the market trends. This allows the smartphone’s image sensors to capture maximum of light in any scenario. While cpacity to capture more light is an upgrade, it is complemented by an increased light sensitivity and color fidelity. And speaking of color fidelity, it is said that ISOCELL Technology will lead to at least 15% enhancement in light sensitivity. With these developments, a 20MP resolution does not seem to be a far fetchted thing anymore.
And hopefully the camera will have dual aperture feature similar to the Galaxy S9
Well, on the software front, Samsung’s biggest laggart has been the Bixby Virtual Assistant. The AI tech in Bixby needs to take big leaps in order to atleast catch-up Apple’s Siri, if not a catch-up with Google Assistant in the near future.
The S Pen : The S Pen is synonymous with the Galaxy Note series and this time, the pen too has undergone an upgrade. It is expected to be connected to Note 9 via Bluetooth. And there are a host of things the S Pen will be able to perform, without touching the screen of the phone.
- Music controls via the S Pen – something like Play, Pause and pehaps skip tracks
- S Pen would unlock the phone via Bluetooth mechanism
- Long press on the S Pen could act in similar as we have Right Click on a Windows’ mouse.
- And you could launch Bixby with Single or Double tap on the S Pen, with custom shortcuts
- Perhaps S Pen could remotely click the shutter on the Phone Camera too
More about Hardware : Expect to see the Gem of a Display with 6.3” QHD+ screen. And a pixel powerhouse with maimum resolution at 2960×1440 pixels. This Super AMOLED would give out an aspect ratio of 18.5:9!!
The inevitable RAM upgrade to two models perhaps could help Samsung place the Note variants in separate rice band, thus enforcing a supe flank strategy with 6 GB and 8 GB models. Similarly the internal memory variations from 128 GB upto 512 GB and expandable memory card slot will further strengthen the placement.
Sound : AKG or nothing else! This one comes from an ardent AKG fan who found his calling in the Galaxy S9 headphones. And yes, the 3.5mm headphone jack is a must have!
Battery : Expectation no. 1, it has to be stable. Expectation No. 2, stability again! And a 4000 mAh battery should be housed into that tall and wide body. And although not confirmed, Fast and Wireless charging features are simply not to be missed.
