Cameras in smartphones are super important. They’ve gotten better and better over the years and have been improved on every updated version or new model the brand makes. Personally, we won’t use any mobile device whose camera is not spectacular because we capture life changing events in our daily activities and we need a standard device to accomplish that.
Huawei V20
This is the world’s first 48MP AI camera and also a 7nm AI chipset which is the most powerful and intelligent mobile chipset. In optics, the rare camera has a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with 960fps slow motion video shots with a 3D time of flight sensor to capture depth in images. The front camera has a 25MP with fixed focused support. The Huawei V20 is spectacular in taking night scene, portrait, fun AR and time-lapse photography. Imagine all this in the palm of your hand, that’s pure genius.
Huawei’s products and services are available in more than 170 countries, and are used by a third of the world’s population. The company has 15 R&D centers spread across the globe. The company is serious about what they have to offer.
Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL
The Pixel 3 is a great improvement from the pixel 2. With a 5.5 inches’ full screen display and a QUALCOMM snapdragon processor. It has a 12.2MP dual pixel rear camera with a face detection autofocus and also an 8MP front camera that has a spectacular autofocus function. This is a great choice for detailed and professional shots and people who love photography.
Like last two years of Pixel and the erstwhile Nexus smartphone series, this year too is full of exciting features. And these do not leave the potential Pixel 3 (or even Google Pixel 3A) owners bereft of the overwhelming feeling of owning the latest Flagship.
Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium
This is the first dual lens shooter made by Sony mobile. This smartphone has the world’s first 4K HDR movie recording which makes you capture reality like a pro. It takes super slow motion HD videos with 120fps. It gives the best selfies in low light and it is a spectacular phone for low light shooting. This is an ideal phone for people who love photography.
As Sony puts it, the Xperia XZ2 Camera is ‘Camera to the extreme’. It shoots real pro-quality images and videos with its dual camera and the gem of a 4K HDR display brings shot images and videos to life.
Apple iPhone XS and XS Max
Well, we’ve always known the Apple company to deliver top notch products on every new model, the IPhone XS and XS Max was no different. With the biggest screen on an iPhone so far, it has dual rare cameras of 12MP with immense depth control and a front camera of 7MP that gives the highest video quality on a smartphone.
Both the iPhone XS variants come with loads of camera features like new secondary frames and a fast sensor. Moreso the extremely powerful A12 Bionic chip which brings more highlight and shadow detail to shoots. And the camera specs support this and do much more. iPhone XS Max has Dual 12MP rear cameras (ƒ/1.8wide-angle lens and ƒ/2.4telephoto lens). The camera also has 4K video (up to 60 fps) capabilities.
Samsung Galaxy S9+ and Samsung Galaxy Note 9
Samsung has revolutionized the mobile optical world by releasing several new models in their series. The S9, S9+ and Note 9 is one of a kind, and I believe it still remains the best series released by Samsung so far. It has a wide angle super speed dual pixel rare camera with a 12MP AF sensor, a 10X digital zoom, 2X optical zoom and a selective autofocus and background blur effect with dual capture, not to mention its spectacular optical image stabilization. The front camera has a 8MP AF sensor, a F1.7 aperture which has selfie focus and also wide selfie capture. Samsung has always delivered the best there is in the android models and I cannot wait to see the improvement they make on the galaxy X.
Both Galaxy S9 and S9+ phones have the cult leader status. Both have the iconic curved display (aka infinity display) which is a pure viewing delight. Tall screens, rear finger print scanners and AMOLED displays are the pinnacle of glory for two phones.
Moto Z3
This is basically the first 5G upgradeable phone with dual depth sensing cameras, it has a 12-megapixel rear camera, a PDAF and laser autofocus with a colour correlated temperature, dual LED flash and Zero Shutter Lag. The rear camera also has up to 4K Ultra HD camera taking videos at 30fps I mean, that is awesome.
It also has 8MP in its front camera with a wide-angle 84° lens which will produce amazing personal and group selfies coupled with portrait mode pictures in low light. The front camera also takes amazing 1080p videos and slow motion videos which makes it spectacular for cinematography.
LG V40
This tech is one of a kind, its amazing story shot mode uses both the rare and front cameras to create fun photo composite, it also has a Cine shot where you can control what moves in your video, this means you can pause other moving objects in your picture. It can take wide selfies with no distortion. Its zooming capacity is beyond marvelous, it has a 16X continuous zoom. It has 3 rare cameras;16MP Super Wide-Angle, 12MP Telephoto Zoom,12MP Standard and an optical lens which produces high quality images with an advanced HDR allowing more light and dark details. This makes the LG V40 a top quality device for reality shots.
Lenovo Z5 Pro
This beast has 6GB of RAM and an octacore powered processor and Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 6.39inches full screen display. It has 2 rare cameras which are 16MP and 24MP which has a dual-LED and dual-tone flash with a rare autofocus that takes videos at 2160p and 120fps. The dual front camera has a 16MP and 8MP takes videos at 1080p and 30fps. Lenovo Z5 Pro is a great phone to take amazing selfies.
That being said, this is a mid-range smartphone that serves a bunch of premium features. The immersive bezel-less display screen is coupled with a camera that is great for clicking pictures under any condition.
Huawei Nova 4
The Huawei Nova 4 has a rare camera of 48MP+16MP ultra wide angle snapper and a 2MP depth sensor. The front camera has a 24MP in-display camera. This makes the Huawei Nova 4 good for aerial shots and taking pictures at low light which will still deliver high quality images.
