Is your iPhone jailbroken? If yes, is your iPhone acting erratically? It might be infected by a virus.
If your iPhone or iPad is not jailbroken, it is virtually impossible for the iPhone or iPad to have a virus, and if it did, it would be all over the Internet and a lot of other people would have it as well. Here’s why:
All Apple iPhone applications are “sandboxed”, which means they are compartmentalized on you iPhone, and while living in separate compartments they do not interfere with the working of iOS. The Apps are only allowed to share information in specific ways that are non-threatening to the phone’s OS itself (such as copy and pasting text or an image). The only place you can get an app is on Apples App Store, where almost all the Apps are checked for various Trust-based characteristics, thereby making it virtually impossible for a virus to get onto your iPhone or iPad.
Even browsing the Internet would only infect Safari (and so far, that hasn’t happened). The virus would never go to anything else and if it ever does, it would be wiped out with a security update from Apple.
Throughout iPhone’s entire history panning for more than 10 years, there has only been one virus that made it through Apple’s curation process. It infected only 6,500 iPhones and Apple removed it from the App store and issued an update to remove the virus as soon as they discovered it.
Thanks to the very nature of Apple iPhone, even if a virus was able to get onto your phone, it would be limited to the App that carried it and spreading to other apps or devices is so virtually improbable it might as well be impossible.
