What to expect at Apple’s Special Launch Event 9/12

So the next New Apple device is coming up for launch, are you up for it?

September month marks the beginning of a new phase / era for Apple products line-up. The company that has more than $ 1 Trillion market cap, tries to retain and grow its established self across product segments, most of which were originally pioneered by Apple itself. And the coveted line-up isn’t just a range of new/upgraded tech devices, it is more of a religion, a cult perhaps. Well, to close the cliche of a paragraph, this time around, analysts don’t expect much, except from tweaks here and there in hardware and some third-party originated software which was ‘acquired’ by Apple through their war-chest of a treasury.

Well as we try to put the element of surprise away, there might be new versions of the Apple iPhone (perhaps tune-up and tune-down versions) along with new hardware in the form of the Apple Watch series 4. Something in the likes of the Apple iPhone X, iPhone 8 and 8+ along with the Apple Watch 3 last year.

The invite sent out to members of the media fraternity carry a ‘Round’ ring image on them, something that resembles with the Round-shaped Apple Park that was opened to employees in April 2017. The Cupertino, California based facility can accommodate a total of 2000 people and is said to cost $ 5 Billion to Apple.

Apple has been hinting at new product segments like Cars, TVs and AR Glasses, however the same are still under development. As competition, which has been on heels with Apple innovation, has caught up really fast of late, it is going to take Apple to put in herculian of an effort to maintain its dominance as leader of the tech world.

Best thing for Apple is, even if they do not really come out with ground-breaking devices this year, their Sales Topline still may not get hogged by it. Why? The ecosystem! Their devices already dominate the rankings everywhere. The unique hardware that Apple’s software ecosystem serves is already out there! the consumers already have the equipment! All they need is the dope in the form of Apps and Services! Apple has really toiled on well in thid department with Siri, TrueDepth Camera, AugmentedReality. What’s more is the upcoming Operating Systems like Mojave for Macbooks and iOS 12 for the iPhonnes and iPads.

Apple iPhone X’s cousins are the highly anticipated appearances that we expect during the Apple Special Event. The ‘leaked’ images above show three variants of the iPhone X, namely: Apple iPhone Xs with 5.8inch display, iPhone 9 with 6.1 inch display and iPhone Xs Max with 6.5 inch maxed out display size.

These babies might as well be powered by a brand new A12 processor. Which may have a second generation Apple inhouse designed GPU. At the same time it is expected to me more efficient in terms of power consumption in comparison to its predecessors.  Less power consumption will translate to better battery life, remains to be seen how long it would last as battery compartment is not expected to be any bigger than previous iPhone X model. While the 5 inch and 6.5 inch models will have A 12 processor, the  iPhone 9 may come out with last year’s A11 Bionic chip to keep costs low and Apple’s superstitions high. (considering 9 is not an auspicious number for Apple)

One of the most anticipated features would be a Dual SIM tray in the new line-up. Price estimates, striht from the rumor mill, are as follows:

  • 6.1″ iPhone 9 model will cost €800/£700/$700
  • 5.8″ iPhone Xs mode will cost €910/£800/$800
  • 6.5″ iPhone Xs (Plus/Max) model will cost €1.150/£999/$999

Apple Watch 4 is expected to be the biggest break through during the Apple event. Although most of the competition have tried and burnt their hands in the wearables (watches) segment, Apple being Apple will continue their endeavour till they bring out the best in watches.

Hardware betterments in Watch 4 over last year’s Watch 3 will be a larger and higher resolution display as per the image above. More display space with better resolution will translate to better watch face resolutions and detail.

While the above mentioned 2 categories are definitely a Hit during the event, other less likely items that Apple just might come up with would be a newer version of the iPad, Airpods, Wireless charger, and maybe a bleakly possible announcement of a new macbook.
